Billies finish regular season with Llano pre-district meet
Fredericksburg High School cross country finished the regular season with a meet in Llano.
Junior varsity girls won their team title, JV boys finished second and varsity girls came in fourth during the Llano Yellowjacket Pre-District Cross Country Invitational on Wednesday, Oct. 9, at Llano High School.
Varsity boys used it as a two-mile time trial and did not complete the race.
“Our kids competed well at the meet and many once again saw season improvements on their season performances in yet another hot afternoon,” coach Dan Aldrich said. “We are now headed into our District XC Meet which will be held in Llano on Thursday, Oct. 17.”
Race times are as follows: varsity girls at 9:15 a.m., varsity boys at 9:45 a.m., JV girls at 10:15 a.m., and JV boys at 10:45 a.m. Awards will be held at 11:45 a.m.
The top three teams in the varsity division and the top 10 individuals will advance to the regional meet on Monday, Oct. 28, in Corpus Christi.
“Our goal is to have everyone perform their best this season and see how many medals we can achieve,” Aldrich said. “For the teams, we would like to walk away with some district titles to bring back home to Fredericksburg … I am excited about next week and am anxious to see how well our teams perform.
“We have two high quality workouts to put in as a team on Friday and Monday to finish our prep for district. The hard part for everyone is now the wait to race day.”
