Bryce Raders’ silver-medal performance highlights Fredericksburg High School boys’ track and field’s final week of competition before district.
Raders finished second in pole vault in the 90th annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays on Friday, March 31, in Austin to give the Billies their lone medalist of the state’s largest meet.
Raders, who’s won four goal medals in pole vault this season, finished with a final height of 15 feet, 4 inches.
Also competing in the Texas Relays were the 4x100- and 4x400-meter relay teams.
The 4x400 team of Edgar Monroy, Troy Kneese, Sean Majors and Jordan Hartmann finished 18th of 49 teams, with a time of 3:30.29.
FHS’ 4x100 relay of Tristan Sanchez, Willie Sebera, Tyler Burns and Hartmann did not finish in their preliminary race.
District meet this week
Fredericksburg hosts the District 29-4A track and field meet today and tomorrow at FHS Stadium.
Field events began at 9:45 a.m. today and continue until 4:30 p.m.
Preliminaries for running events begin at 5:30 p.m. and the final event of the night is the 3200 at 7:40 p.m.
Thursday’s finals began at 5:30 p.m., with the final event scheduled for 8:45 p.m.
