FHS netters prepare for Kerrville match
Volleyball season is in full force at Fredericksburg High School.
The Billies competed in two scrimmages, in Wimberley and Kerrville Tivy over the weekend, helping prepare for the regular season.
“Our scrimmages went well,” head coach Kaci Rittimann said. “I am very pleased with where we are at and I am excited to build on our foundation.”
While scrimmages don’t have much effect on the regular season, they are way to help coaches see what areas of the game need to be worked on.
“Those games helped me see our strengths and weaknesses and in what areas we need to focus on so we can grow,” Rittimann said.
A “down-the-street” rivalry took the volleyball courts Tuesday when Billies played the Tivy Lady Antlers.
The Lady Antlers, coached by former FHS coach Jason Roemer, were 10-21 overall and 2-9 in district play last season.
The last time the two teams met was in 2015 and Tivy took the win, 3-1.
