FHS girls' track heading to area meet

The Fredericksburg High School girls’ track and field team defended its throne with a golden performance at the District 28-4A track meet Wednesday and Thursday, April 5-6, at FHS Stadium.

FHS won team titles in both the junior varsity and varsity competitions in district while advancing 15 athletes to the District 27/28-4A area track meet Wednesday, April 19, at Canyon Lake High School.

“The past two days, our girls did exactly what was asked of them and they continued their tradition of winning the district title in both divisions,” coach Dan Aldrich said. “We had almost everyone achieving their best marks/times of the year, which is what we planned to do based on our training progressions.”

Fredericksburg scored 216 points to finish ahead of second-place Canyon Lake by 66 points in the varsity competition.

Megan Daley (300-meter hurdles and high jump), Abby Spurgin (shot put), Elizabeth Sebera (discus) and Aleah Constantine (pole vault) won individual titles to lead the Billies.
