FHS girls' soccer starts 28-4A play with draw

Fredericksburg High School varsity girls’ soccer opened District 28-4A play with a 2-2 tie to the Wimberley Texans at home Friday, Feb. 10.

“Wimberley is a very talented team and we knew we would have to work together and produce some solid team defending,” coach Logan Minshew said.

FHS struck first when Valeria Orama Oliveras chased down a ball over the top of Wimberley’s defense and scored five minutes into the game.

The Texans controlled possession for the rest of the first half, giving FHS a few chances the team didn’t convert.
