The FHS girls’ varsity softball team competed in the Fredericksburg Tournament Feb. 23-25.
The Billies went 2-4. All games were played with a 75-minute time format.
“Overall the girls played great this weekend,” head coach Travis Hejl said. “Our approach to tournament games is to see what each girl can do and where they need to improve.”
Hejl would like to see his team hit the ball earlier in the game, instead of collecting runs and hits later in the game.
“Moving forward, we definitely need to figure out how to hit the ball early on,” Hejl said. “Regardless of pitching, we struggle at the plate through the first three innings and then come alive after that. That is going to be a point of emphasis for us.”
The Billies saw strong pitching from sophomore pitchers Rose Stuewe and Emery Boettcher.
