FHS boys' hoops has two games to go in season

The Battlin’ Billies continue to roll through their district competition.

Fredericksburg High School varsity boys’ basketball picked up two more District 28-4A wins last week, beating the Canyon Lake Hawks, 59-35, on Friday, Feb. 2, at home and the Bandera Bulldogs, 47-46, on Tuesday, Jan. 30, at Bandera.

FHS entered Tuesday night’s road game against Boerne with a 5-1 district record (23-8 overall) and a chance to win the crown.

The Billies wrap up the season with a road game against the Hondo Owls on Friday, Feb. 9, at Hondo.


FHS 59, Canyon Lake 35

FHS’ tough defense led the team to the win against Canyon Lake.

“We got after them and got some easy buckets early to take the lead,” coach Tim Kaman said.

Senior Sean Majors scored 17 points and junior Hayden Ahrens contributed 13 points from the bench.
