FHS athletes earn TGCA all-star honors


Three local female athletes were recognized as Texas Girls Coaches Association 
To be recognized, athletes must be a current junior.
Representing the Fredericksburg High School volleyball team was Rose Stuewe. 
Stuewe was recognized as a member of the 2017 TGCA All-State team, the 2017 District 28-4A Offensive Player of the Year and a member of the 2016 and 2017 District 28-4A Academic All-District teams. She was also named on the 2016 District 28-4A honorable mention team. 
FHS girls’ basketball player Mia Torres received TGCA accolades. 
During the 2015-2016 season, she was named a member of the second team in District 28-4A. 
In 2016-2017, she was named to the first team for District 28-4A, was named a Texas Association of Basketball Coaches All-Region player, was awarded a San Antonio Express-News game ball and was on the Burnet All-Tourney Team.  
During her junior year, Torres was again named to the District 28-4A first team, was named a Texas Association of Basketball Coaches All-Region player and was named a San Antonio Express-News Player of the Week and received a game ball. She was also on the Fredericksburg All-Tourney 
Track athlete Molly Pluenneke was named a 2017-2018 TGCA All-Star track athlete. 
From 2016-2018, Pluenneke lettered, was named to the District 28-4A Academic All-District and All-District teams and was a Region 4-4A qualifier. In 2018, she was a Region 4-4A medalist, was a district, area and region team champion and was a state medalist and team runner-up
