Eagles roll to win in first round game

Heritage boys’ hoops advances to area after a big playoff win.

The Eagles beat Cypress Covenant, 79-39, in the first round of the TAPPS 1A playoffs Saturday, Feb. 15, at home.

“We are really putting it all together at the right time,” coach Clarence Stewart said. “Defensively and offensively. We hurt Covenant inside and outside.”

Heritage led by five after the first quarter, but pulled away with big second and third quarters.

Sophomore post player John Fritzsch led Heritage with 28 points. Sam Richburg added 19 points.

Heritage hosted Spring Founders Academy on Tuesday, Feb. 18, at Heritage.

The Eagles beat Bulverde Living Rock, 45-22, on Wednesday, Feb. 12, in Boerne. Josh Hoermann led Heritage scorers with 15 points.
