Fredericksburg High School cross country has one meet left before district.

FHS heads to the Lampasas Cross Country Invitational on Friday, Oct. 6, at Lampasas High School before competing in the District 28-4A cross country meet Thursday, Oct. 12, in Hondo.

The Billies’ varsity and junior varsity boys and girls ran in the Marble Falls Invitational this weekend after both varsity teams were initially scheduled to run in the McNeil Invitational in Round Rock.

Varsity boys and girls both won championships in the Class 1A-4A division in Marble Falls, with both junior varsity teams finishing third.

“The large (6A to 5A school) division had about twice as many runners as our smaller division and although we wanted to race against more people, it was good to have the smaller numbers on the soft course which helped our whole team stay healthy,” coach Dan Aldrich said. “As a coach you always worry about injuries on muddy courses, but the kids usually always have fun running in the mud.”
