Billies baseball wins four games in week


Fredericksburg High School baseball continued its winning ways by taking four of five games in a week’s worth of play.

The Billies, ranked No. 8 in’s Class 4A poll, beat Monahans, Llano and Stephenville in the Wimberley Baseball Tournament on Thursday and Friday, March 8-9, and defeated the Hondo Owls on Tuesday, March 6, at FHS baseball field.

FHS’ lone loss was to Magnolia in the Wimberley Tournament.

The Billies were set to play the Hondo Owls on Tuesday, March 13, but results were not available as of press time.

Next up is a game against Austin Hyde Park, starting at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 16, at FHS baseball field.


Magnolia 9, FHS 8

FHS led Magnolia by five runs heading into the bottom of the third, but didn’t hold on to win.

Hobbs Price hit a home run and drove in three runs during FHS’ loss. Riggs Threadgill also hit a home run and scored twice.
