Billies baseball starts district undefeated

A split in the Wimberley Varsity Tournament and then a pitching gem against Hondo moved Fredericksburg High to 8-5 on the season, and 1-0 in their district.

Playing at the March 9-11 Wimberley Varsity Tournament, Fredericksburg lost to Austin St. Michaels and Magnolia High while defeating Llano and Burnet.

The Billies blanked Hondo, 5-0, on March 7.

“Obviously, we expect to win every game when we step on the field,” said FHS baseball head coach Derrick Dietrich. “Unfortunately, that hasn’t happened. We have played some good teams. We expect to beat them just as all others. Right now, we are still trying to find ourselves.”

Fredericksburg’s next game will be, against Wimberley at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, at home.
