Ten gold medals led the top of the list of awards earned by the various squads from Harper High School at the District 27-2A track meet held April 12 at San Saba.
And when the final dust had settled, Harper had finished in second place in three divisions — both varsity teams (girls and boys) as well as the junior varsity girls. The Longhorn JV boys finished in fourth place in their category.
On the girls' varsity ledger, Quinn Stevenson brought home the top prize in both the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes with times of 12.76 and 26.92, respectively. In those two races, Raegan Morriss came in second place with times of 13.31 and 27.83.
In the discus competition, the Ladyhorns' Lexi Smith finished in the top spot with a throw of 107' 2.5".
For the boys' varsity, the 4x100-meter relay team of Austin Boerner, Dylan Sivells, Jadyn Breedlove, and Jordan Rodriguez captured first place by registering a time of 44.51,
Joe Boy took first in the shot put with a distance of 45' 6", while Carson McKnight and Josh Sagraves took first and second in the high jump with heights of 5' 10" and 5' 6", respectively.
