Vernon Stephen Icke, 70, of Fredericksburg, died Tuesday, July 30, 2019, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Kerrville.
Graveside services and interment were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 26, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.
Icke was born May 22, 1949, in Fredericksburg, the son of Werner Max Icke and Florence Edna Klein Icke. He married Cheryl Elaine Chaffin and she survives.
After attending grade school in Fredericksburg, Icke attended Tivy High School in Kerrville, graduating in 1967.
He joined the United States Air Force in August 1967 and retired after 22 years of service.
In addition to his wife, Icke is survived by three children, Stephen Werner Icke, Marcy Castillo and James Wagner, all of Fredericksburg, and one grandchild.
Survivors also include one sister, Betty Moellendorf of Fredericksburg, and one brother, Jimmy Icke of Washington.
Along with his parents, Icke was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph Icke.
