Suzanne Marie (Sue) Balasa
Suzanne Marie (Sue) Balasa, 75, nee Bradley, of Harper, died Friday, June 17, 2016.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 23, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Harper with the Rev. Martin Avila officiating.
Interment of the cremains was at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.
Mrs. Balasa was born Oct. 24, 1940, in Utica, New York, the daughter of Frank Bradley and Margaret Hazel Bradley. She married Emery Balasa. They were later divorced.
Shortly after graduation from high school, Mrs. Balasa enlisted in the United States Navy.
She moved to Texas in 1992, and made Harper her home in 1999, and spent much of her time volunteering with the Harper Library, St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and St. Anne’s Society, assisting with potlucks and fundraisers.
Mrs. Balasa is survived by five sons, two daughters and spouses, including Raymond and Susie Balasa; Roseann Stockman; Christine and Rick Lister; Andrew and Diana Balasa; Anthony and Melinda Balasa; Phillip and Julvita Balasa and Christopher and Aaren Balasa.
Survivors also include 14 grandchildren; her former husband, Emery Balasa, and two brothers, William Bradley and Robert Bradley.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials may be made to the charity of choice.
