Rev. Robert Ernest (Bob) Breihan
The Rev. Robert Ernest (Bob) Breihan, 92, formerly of Fredericksburg and now of Austin, died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017.
A service of celebration was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at University United Methodist Church in Austin.
Breihan was born Jan. 1, 1925, in Brenham. He married the Rev. Sarah Bentley in 1983.
He graduated from Tivy High School in 1942 and attended Schreiner Institute and the University of Texas. His college years were interrupted with Midshipman School in New York City and a brief naval tour of the Pacific as World War II ended. He returned to UT and earned a degree in electrical engineering before attending Perkins Seminary in Dallas.
In addition to his wife, Breihan is survived by three children and their spouses including Lauren Breihan and Dave Lang of Flagstaff, Arizona; John and Katie Breihan of Austin; Celia and Doug Johnston of Austin, and a brother and sister-in-law, Ted and Frances Breihan of San Marcos.
He is also survived by six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Edward Breihan; a sister, Elizabeth Cotner; a brother-in-law, David Bentley, and a grandson, Thomas Lang.
