Mrs. Werner E. Eckert, 97, nee Myrtle Kuhlmann of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, July 22, 2020.

Graveside services and interment were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 25, at Greenwood Cemetery, with the Rev. David Priem officiating.

Mrs. Eckert was born June 9, 1923, in Fredericksburg, the daughter of Hilmar Kuhlmann and Rosalia Scharnhorst Kuhlmann. She married Werner E. Eckert on Aug. 13, 1941, at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on March 30, 1997.

For 26 years, she worked at Fredericksburg Publishing Co.

She is survived by two children and spouses, Carlton Eckert and Chrissy Stuewe of Fredericksburg, and Joyce and David Carson of Pocatello, Idaho.

Survivors also include four grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and 13 step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Eckert was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters, including Elsie Duecker, Raymond Kuhlmann, Nora Hastings, Percy Kuhlmann, Kurt Kuhlmann, Paula Weber, Alton Kuhlmann, Emily Harrell and Florine Goode.

Memorials may be made to the Holy Ghost Building Fund, Hill Country Memorial Hospice or the charity of choice.
