Mrs. Pedro Cantu
Mrs. Pedro Cantu, 87, nee Dominga Arizola of Fredericksburg, died Friday Nov. 24, 2017.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 27, at Calvary Pentecostal Church with interment following at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation and a prayer service were held Sunday afternoon and evening at the church.
Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cantu was a resident of the Luckenbach community and was born March 1, 1930, the daughter of Felix Arizola and Agapita Torres Arizola. She married Pedro Cantu in 1945 in Taylor. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by six daughters, six sons and spouses, including Frank and Estella Cantu, Tina and Martin Perez, Vincent and Benita Cantu, Abel and Jeraldine Cantu, Abelia Cantu, Porfie and Dora Cantu, Oralia and Henry Sorola, Beatrice and Damian Rosa, Emma and Pastor Robert Garcia, all of Fredericksburg; Leandro and Sylvia Cantu of Llano, Martha and Julian Cantu of Stonewall, and Monroe and Rebecca Cantu of Montana.
Survivors also include 85 grandchildren and 129 great- and great-great-grandchildren, and a sister, Lola Arizola of Kentucky.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Cantu was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
Memorials may be made to Hill Country Memorial Hospice, Mid-Tex Healthcare or to the charity of choice.
Pallbearers included Jessie Ibarra, Jose Cadena, Isac Perez, Tyler Vargas, Augustine Arizola Jr. and Johnny Cantu.
Honorary pallbearers were Devin Cantu, Hunter Perez and Josiah Cantu.
