Mrs. Milton Pehl, 93, nee Alma Eckert of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017, at Windcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Jeff Pehl officiating. Mary Ann Murchison was the organist, and Dianne McManigle, the vocalist.
Interment followed at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation and a rosary service led by Deacon Pat Klein were held Monday evening, Oct. 16.
Mrs. Pehl was born Aug. 16, 1924, in the Bear Creek community, the daughter of William Eckert and Fernanda Klier Eckert. She married Milton Pehl on Nov. 28, 1953, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on March 4, 2016.
Mrs. Pehl is survived by one son, Ken Pehl, and one daughter, Karen Pehl, both of Fredericksburg.
She is also survived by sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Myrtle, Mrs. Werner Eckert, and Gus and Gladys Pehl, all of Fredericksburg, and Virginia, Mrs. John Pehl of Stonewall.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Pehl was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters, including Selma Friemel, Frieda Teschner, Emma Itz, Werner Eckert, Alvin Eckert, Dora Ersch and Marvin Eckert.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Loving Care, St. Mary’s School Endowment Fund or to the charity of choice.
Pallbearers included Rick McManigle, Stephen Harvey, Ronald Stehling, Curtis Deike, Jay Ward and Greg Kaderli.
Honorary pallbearers were Shaun Jordan and Dennis Eckert.
