Mrs. John H. (Jack) Homrighausen
Mrs. John H. (Jack) Homrighausen, 89, nee Mary (Joanne) Vien of Fredericksburg, died Saturday, June 11, 2016.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, June 17, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Krys Bytomski officiating. Mary Ann Murchison was the pianist, and Tricia Eilers, the vocalist.
Entombment followed in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum.
Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation and vigil-rosary services were held Thursday evening.
Mrs. Homrighausen was born Aug. 25, 1926, in East St. Louis, Illinois, the daughter of H. Grady Vien and Mary Frances Rogers Vien. She married John Henry (Jack) Homrighausen on Oct. 2, 1948, in Belleville, Illinois, and he survives.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Homrighausen is survived by one son, five daughters and spouses, including John M. Homrighausen of Houston; Mary Susan (Susie) and Gary Steele, Fredericksburg; Anne Lynn and Thomas McDonald, Martindale; Kathleen Roquemore, Garland; Janet and Mitch Varley, La Grange, and Margaret Jo and Brad Hoover, Ozona.
Survivors also include 15 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Shirley, Mrs. J. Rogers Vien of Creve Coeur, Missouri, and a brother and sister-in-law, Rod and Sara Kelley of Olney, Illinois.
Mrs. Homrighausen was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, J. Rogers Vien.
Memorials may be made to the St. Mary’s School Endowment Fund, Hill Country Memorial Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
Pallbearers included John Kenneth Homrighausen, Patrick Steele, Josh Stampfer, Chris Goswick, Michael Goswick, Justin Hoover and Zach Hoover.
