Merlyn Irene Schuch Klinksiek, 84, of Bryan and formerly of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2020.

Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at the Aggie Field of Honor in College Station with Chaplain Dan McGookey officiating.

Mrs. Klinksiek was born Sept. 3, 1936, in Fredericksburg, the daughter of Chester Schuch and Irene Palmer Schuch. She married Harold Klinksiek on June 15, 1957, and he survives.

After graduating from Fredericksburg High School, Mrs. Klinksiek worked in Austin where she graduated from the June Brooks Modeling Studio.

While her husband was stationed at Forbes Air Force Base in Topeka, Kansas, she served as the vice president of the Topeka Professional Models Club.

There, she modeled and provided instructions in charm and modeling for students aged 12-40.

Upon their return to Fredericksburg, she was an instructor at the Lucille Miller Studio, teaching self-improvement and modeling courses.

Mrs. Klinksiek later became an associate at the family’s Fredericksburg True Value Hardware Store.

Following retirement, the Klinksieks moved to College Station.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Klinksiek is survived by one daughter, Leslie Klinksiek, of Houston, and one son, Jason Klinksiek, of El Campo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Barbara, and an infant son, Harold Klinksiek Jr.
