Marvin (Jack) Wiemers, 92, died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2017.
Graveside services with military honors and interment were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, at Der Stadt Friedhof, with the Rev. Pam Traver officiating.
Visitation was held Saturday morning at Fredericksburg Funeral Home prior to the graveside services.
Wiemers was born July 10, 1925, in Fredericksburg, the son of Marvin A. Wiemers and Erna Louise Hahn Wiemers. He married Lois Johnson on Sept. 16, 1947. She preceded him in death on May 14, 2010.
He was retired from insurance and real estate sales.
Wiemers is survived by four sons, two daughters and spouses, including Phil and Teri Wiemers of Leander, Sherrie and Douglas Zenner, Billy Wiemers, Jackie Wiemers and David and Mary Wiemers, all of Fredericksburg, and Betsy and Craig Althaus of Hunt.
Survivors also include nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a brother and sister-in-law, Rev. Bill and Janie Wiemers.
In addition to his wife and parents, Wiemers was preceded in death by one daughter, Susan Wiemers; one sister, Muriel Stuart, and one brother, Charles Wiemers.
Memorials may be made to Hill Country Memorial Hospice, American Diabetes Association, American Cancer Society or the charity of choice.
