Marion Rode Stewart
Marion Rode Stewart, 84, of McGregor, died Sunday, April 7, 2019.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 9, at 2 p.m., at Zion Lutheran Church in McGregor with interment following in the McGregor Cemetery.
Mrs. Stewart was born Nov. 29, 1934, at Cherry Spring, the daughter of Regu Rode and Ida Dittmar Rode. She married Ray Stewart on Sept. 7, 1957, at Cherry Spring. He preceded her in death.
She attended Cherry Spring School and graduated from Fredericksburg High School and Texas Lutheran College.
Over the years, she worked at Gilmore and Davis Furniture and was the owner of the Busy Bee Gift Shop.
Mrs. Stewart is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and Luke Lammert of McGregor, and one granddaughter.
Survivors also include five sisters and spouses, Helen and Carroll Hoffmann of New Braunfels, Emy Stubblefield of Fredericksburg, Rosalind and Roy Neuman of Crawford, Idabelle Erickson of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Irene and Tracy Merz, of Fredericksburg, and three sisters-in-law, Theresa Rode of Fredericksburg, Katherine Westfall and Pauline Cowart.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Stewart was preceded in death by two sons, Tom Lee Stewart and Jim Ray Stewart, and three brothers, David Rode, Leroy Rode and Andrew Rode.
