Joe Ray Brown
Joe Ray Brown, 64, of Boerne and formerly of Fredericksburg, died Tuesday, July 24, 2018.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 28, at Journey Church with the Rev. Mike Dearinger officiating.
Interment followed at Greenwood Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home where visitation was held Friday evening.
Brown was born Nov. 13, 1953, in Wichita, Kansas, the son of Ralph Edward Brown and Geneva Sue Harkey Brown. He married Sally Moss on April 24, 1982, in Austin, and she survives.
For many years, Brown worked at Central Texas Electric Cooperative, first as a lineman and later as a dispatcher.
He was also a member of Kairos Prison Ministry, participated in Walk to Emmaus and was a founder of Outriders for Christ Church in Luckenbach.
In addition to his wife, Brown is survived by two daughters, Marissa Isenburg and her husband, Scott, of Fredericksburg, and Cheyanne Brown of Boerne, and a brother, Jim Brown of Fredericksburg.
Memorials may be made to Kairos Prison Ministry or the charity of choice.
Pallbearers included Ronald Miiller, Steven Kaderli, Bruce Ottmers, Jim Brown, Randy Hoddie, Mark Toomey, Aaron Tolli, Gary Stennett and Daryl Rechenthin.
