Hugh Morrison Hornsby III, 85, of Fredericksburg, died Sunday, Sept. 22, 2019.
Hornsby was born March 22, 1934, in Austin, the son of Hugh M. Hornsby Jr. and Elizabeth Medbery Hornsby.
He received a bachelor of business administration degree from the University of Texas in Austin in 1955, and then served in the United States Army Reserves.
Hornsby joined Southwestern Life in 1960 as an insurance agent, and in 1965, opened Hornsby & Associates, assisting clients with insurance, real estate and financial planning needs for over 50 years.
He was a Kiwanian for many years and served as governor of the Texas-Oklahoma District, Kiwanis International from 1969-1970. He was also a member of the Sons of the Republic of Texas.
Hornsby is survived by two daughters, one son and spouses, Anne and Dean Kuhlmann of Marble Falls, Holly and Brett Hunsucker of Round Rock, and John and Tammy Hornsby of Bridge City.
Survivors also include six granddaughters.
He is also survived by two sisters, Sandra Fields of Austin, and Barbara Whitman of Humble.
In addition to his parents, Hornsby was preceded in death by one daughter, Susan, and two sisters, Helen Bland and Turla Jones.
