David Francis Sollohub, 72, of Kyle and formerly of Fredericksburg, died Monday, July 24, 2017, in a Kyle hospital.
Graveside services with military honors and interment were held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 31, at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery with Deacon Patrick Klein officiating.
Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.
Sollohub was born Aug. 7, 1944, in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, the son of Raymond Francis Sollohub and Anne McGill Sollohub.
A 1963 graduate of St. Mary’s High School, he served in the United States Air Force from September 1963 until September 1967, and received a number of awards and citations for his service.
Sollohub worked for a furniture restoration business and was a member of the VFW and AMVETS.
Survivors include a son, David Sollohub Jr. and his wife, Heather, of New Braunfels; a daughter, Amy Ifland and her husband, Mike, of Houston, and three grandchildren.
He is also survived by two sisters, three brothers and spouses, including Nancy Sollohub, Barbara Sollohub and Ray Sollohub, all of Kyle; Mike and Donna Sollohub of Von Ormy, and Doug and Linda Sollohub of Fredericksburg.
In addition to his parents, Sollohub was preceded in death by one brother, Dan Sollohub.
