Orchard Grove complex adds 96 apartment units
The local housing market got a boost with the addition of 96 new units on Monday, as principles and Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce members gathered for the grand opening of Orchard Grove Apartments.
The new apartments, financed by Security State Bank and Trust, are at the corner of Texas Highway 16 North and Lower Crabapple Road.
Justin MacDonald, MacDonald Companies’ president and chief operating officer, said ground has been broken next door on 48 town homes, which will have one- and two-story, triplex units.
“We are aware of Fredericksburg’s tight housing situation and are working as fast as we can to help address that,” MacDonald, a third-generation builder, said Monday. MacDonald companies has developed 5,700 units in 48 communities in 25 Texas cities. The company is based in Kerrville.
The new apartments will lease for prices ranging from $999 to $1,350. Formats are one-bedroom, one bath (715 square feet), two-bedroom, two-bath (1,010 square feet) and three-bedroom, twobath (1,250 square feet).
The new town home units will be larger two-two and three-two units. Rental rates have not yet been set.
Amenities at the complex include a swimming pool, fitness center, washer/dryer in each unit, a community recreation room and onsite management and maintenance.
