Fredericksburg Publishing Company, parent of the Fredericksburg Standard-Radio Post and its related magazines, donated $2,100 to the Fredericksburg Food Pantry as part of a Christmas season promotion. The drive saw $5 from each new and renewed subscription donated to the organization which serves the area by providing food staples. Stock show organizers still taking add-ons for auction

An official total amount of money paid in the 2021 Gillespie County Youth Livestock Show premium auction has yet to be announced, as President Lane Ottmers said organizers are still taking add-ons. Even so, Ottmers said the auction was still a success.

Vets offer $10 rabies shots for pet

The City of Fredericksburg and local veterinarians have teamed up to offer the public rabies shots for dogs and cats at a reduced price of $10, in lieu of a rabies clinic. No public clinic will be offered this year as a precaution against the coronavirus.

Music Club cancels first four concerts

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Fredericksburg Music Club canceled the next four concerts of the 2020-2021 series. Previously scheduled for January, February, March and April, the afternoon performances in the sanctuary of Fredericksburg United Methodist Church were to have presented the Agarita Chamber Players (violin, viola, cello and piano), the Children’s Chorus of San Antonio, Ensemble Next Parallel (clarinet, violin and piano) and the River City Ringers (handbell choir).
