Record attendance expected for 2017 Parade of Homes
The Hill Country Builders Association (HCBA) sees sustained and steady housing market growth over the next several years.
The steady rise in new home construction and interest in relocating to the region are attributed to the record numbers of attendees that are expected to attend the annual HCBA Parade of Homes tour, Oct. 13-16 and Oct. 20-22. (See special insert in today’s paper for more information.)
“Our annual Parade of Homes Tour presented by Security State Bank & Trust is a major draw for locals and tourists seeking to experience first-hand the latest and greatest in Hill Country living,” said Lana Bohannon, HCBA Parade of Homes Chairperson. “We’ve already experienced an unusually high number of Parade inquiries as well as triple the amount of online tickets sales — and we’re still two weeks out.”
“Central Texas’s steady and sustained economic growth has kept the majority of our builder members at 100 percent capacity. New projects are even required to be waitlisted at times,” said Todd Eidson, HCBA president for the Wine Country region and builder for Sierra Homes.
Homeowners are looking to relocate to the Gillespie County region not only for the lower cost of living compared to bigger cities but also for the above average school systems and safe communities.
“Homeowners are catching on to the many benefits of living in the Hill Country,” said Eidson.
“The Hill Country Parade of Homes has earned a unique reputation as a destination event featuring Texas’s most acclaimed custom builders,” he added.
Parade-goers will have the opportunity to visit wineries along the Highway 290 Wine Trail, and winetasting vouchers will be available at select Parade homes.
Visitors can enter a drawing to win a $250 Visa card by voting for their favorite Parade Tour home.
