Low vision group to meet, hear about rescue animals

The Low Vision Resource Group is meeting at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, at the American Legion Hall, 724 S. Washington St.

Doors open at 1:15 p.m. for those who want to come early and socialize.

The group delivers discussions and demonstrations to inform people about vision loss, adaptive tools, techniques and technology available for living as independently as possible.

Lisa Miele will bring rescue animals and talk about them during the November program. She does not plan to bring snakes.

The meeting is open to everyone interested in low vision and questions are encouraged.

The group is coordinated by Rita Irons, a Fredericksburg resident and 24-year occupational therapy assistant. She also worked 12 years for the Texas Commission for the Blind in the adult rehabilitation center in Austin.
