Historic Review Board recognizes two properties for rehabilitation efforts
The City of Fredericksburg’s Historic Review Board, at their first annual awards ceremony, provided two awards at Pioneer Museum’s Founders Day Memorial Dinner.
The awards went to Mark and Conni Radle for their rehabilitation of 313 E. Travis St. and also to Gary and Maggie Klenzing for their rehabilitation of Altdorf Biergarten.
The Historic Review Board hopes to make this an annual event.
The structure on the Radle property, located at 313 E. Travis St., was built in the late 1890’s for the Jenschke family by a Mr. Langerhans. “Langerhans” signatures can be found on the walls in the bedroom.
Albert Meier purchased the property sometime in the 1920s-1930s time period and raised his family there.
Mark and Constance Radle purchased the property from Meier’s son, Carlos Meier in 2016.
The Radles received administrative approval to begin the rehabilitation in November 2016 and construction work was completed in early 2018.
