Harper students win UIL theater design
Five Harper High School students are champions following the University Interscholastic League State Theatrical Design Contest.
The Design Team won first place, making them the 2017 State Champions (Division 1).
Sophomore Reagan Morriss competed as an individual in the Set Design category.
The Design Team consisted of senior Claire Hall, set design; senior Cierra Wooten, costume design; junior Rianna Mathews, hair and makeup design, and freshman Nick Wooten, marketing.
Entries were first submitted digitally on Feb. 9, in the qualifying round. Students then traveled to the Region 6A One-Act Play contest held in Bastrop on Friday, April 14, where their work was displayed, judged and critiqued by UIL judges.
Awards were announced that night. The team competed against seven other schools.
Morriss competed against 13 other individuals.
