Galleries to celebrate First Friday Art Walk Aug. 3
First Friday Art Walk Fredericksburg will be celebrated on Friday, Aug. 3, with demonstrations, art talks, receptions, visits with artists and more.

Artisans – A Texas Gallery

“13 Years of Great Texas Art!” will be celebrated at Artisans for August’s First Friday Art Walk.
New wall pieces from Annette Bennett of Fredericksburg (watercolors), Casey Craig of Wimberley (mixed media) and Deb Wight of Bergheim (stained glass and copper) will be featured along with new decorative ceramics and functional pottery from seven artists located around the Texas Hill Country.
Special gifts and surprises will be offered to celebrate the community’s support for Artisans’ Texas artists for over 13 years.
Artisans will also feature a diverse collection of fine art and fine craft, including Texas landscapes, fine furnishings, woodturnings, ceramics, glass, jewelry, mosaic, mixed media, and kinetic art, all from Texas artists.
A reception for visitors and local artists with refreshments will be offered from 5-8 p.m.
Fredericksburg Art Guild

Fredericksburg Art Guild is hosting a new show entitled, “Fall Into Art.”
This is an all-members’ show with featured artists of the month for August and September.
Featured artist for August is Nancy Hardison.
The exhibit runs through Oct. 1.
The August reception starts at 5 p.m. on Friday.
The Fredericksburg Art Guild is a nonprofit organization and acknowledges the support of Pedernales Creative Arts Alliance/Oktoberfest and the City of Fredericksburg Hotel Occupancy Fund grants.

Gallery 330 welcomes visitors to “battle the dog days of summer with refreshing cool drinks and rejuvenating new art from gallery artists.”
Sara Winters has delivered a new painting titled, “A Peaceful Spring,” that invokes memories of a cool springtime in the Texas Hill Country.
In-house artist, R. Bolton Smith, will be finishing a new painting of local architecture in a live demonstration. Gallery 330 invites visitors to watch Smith complete the piece during their Art Walk reception.
The gallery will host a reception for artists and visitors with wine and hors d’oeuvres from 5-8 p.m. on Friday.
Gallery 330 represents established and emerging regional and national artists in a variety of styles and mediums.
The gallery is housed in the historic August Itz building, circa 1908.

Koch Gallery owner Bert Koch has created his gallery space in Fredericksburg to be reminiscent of a visit to a Santa Fe gallery where the visitor can find hundreds of paintings, rugs, pottery and jewelry from highly recognized Native American artists.
For the August First Friday Art Walk, a selection of seven limited edition prints by Comanche artist Rance Hood will be on sale through the weekend.
The gallery will be featuring Ledger Art pieces by Native American artist Virginia Stroud painted on 1874 ledger paper. Ledger Art, created by the Plains Indians using accounting ledger books for paper, flourished primarily from the 1860’s to the 1920’s. It was revived in the 1960’s and remains a collectible art form.
Art work from Robert Taylor, Amado Pena, and custom jewelry pieces from Artie Yellowhorse will also be featured.
A reception will be held from 5-8 p.m. during First Friday Art Walk.
Larry Jackson Fine Art

The Larry Jackson gallery invites visitors to First Friday Art Walk to enjoy cool art, cool conversation and cool refreshments for the August Art Walk.
The gallery’s end-of-summer sale begins on First Friday and continues through Aug. 15.
Special deals can be made on fine art, hand etched glass and other art and special items during this sale.
Wine from Grape Creek Vineyard will be served at the reception from 5:30-8 p.m. where Larry and Jeannie Jackson and staff will be greeting visitors to the gallery.
R.S. Hanna Gallery

R.S. Hanna Gallery offers informative and varied art demonstrations for visitors to First Friday Art Walk.
On Friday, Aug. 3, demonstrations of three different mediums will be featured beginning at 4 p.m. Painter Denise La Rue Mahlke will show and explain her techniques in pastels, Janet Broussard will paint in oils and Burneta Venosdel will reveal her methods of sculpting clay.
Refreshments will be served during the reception for artists and guests from 4-8 p.m.
“Summer Soiree” is the theme for URBANHerbal’s First Friday Art Walk celebration.
Handmade jewelry from artist Joanne Masters emphasizes the garden and garden animals and the artist will be visiting and discussing her pieces during First Friday.
Other gallery artists will be on hand with new art work on display.
A reception from 5:30-8 p.m. will feature cool summer appetizers and beverages with an emphasis on watermelon and other fresh fruits, herbs and vegetables.
Fredericksburg Art Gallery and Insight Gallery will be closed for the August First Friday Art Walk evening, but will resume celebrating Art Walk in September.
