Four file for FISD school board seats
The City of Fredericksburg and Fredericksburg Independent School District will hold elections on Saturday, May 5.
Filing for the positions will end on Friday, Feb. 16.
Three seats on city council and two seats on the school board are up for election.
FISD board race
Two of seven seats of the Fredericksburg Independent School District trustees’ race are up for election on Saturday, May 5.
Bob Straus, Judge Edwards, Marion Wiggins and Kelly C. DiCuffa are the four individuals who have filed for the May race.
Those seeking to run for a school board seat may pick up a candidate packet at the FISD Central Administration building, at 234 Friendship Lane.
Office hours are 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The final day to apply is Friday, Feb. 16, at 5 p.m.
The seats of Dave Campbell and Dale Geistweidt are up for three-year terms.
Fredericksburg City Council race
Candidate filing for the May 5 general election to elect a mayor and two council members is open through Friday, Feb. 16.
Candidate packets are now available at the City of Fredericksburg’s receptionist’s desk, at 126 West Main Street, from 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Deadline to file an application for a place on the ballot will be 4:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16.
Thursday, April 5, is the last day to register to vote.
Early voting will begin on Monday, April 23, and end on Tuesday, May 1.
Incumbent Linda Langerhans and Bobby Watson have filed for the mayoral election. Charlie Kiehne has filed to run for his city council seat.
