FISD to see leadership changes

Gonzalez returns to FHS in principal role

Fredericksburg Independent School District will soon start the new school year with new leadership on its campuses.

The district made a number of changes during the summer months and hired Fredericksburg High School principal Joe Gonzalez.

Gonzalez was previously employed as FHS principal from 2003-2005. Before returning to FISD, he was Judson ISD’s Executive Director of Student Support Services.

According to the Judson ISD website, Gonzalez’ office was “committed to the supervision, assistance and promotion of all Judson ISD programmatic endeavors that impact every stakeholder in the respective areas of guidance and counseling, learning resource centers, test administration, wellness, and all areas designated a priority in order to insure overall successful outcomes of campus faculties, staffs and students.”

After the announcement of Gonzalez’s hiring was made via the Fredericksburg Standard-Radio Post’s Facebook page on Friday, the community began to offer its support of Gonzalez’s return.
