Deputies investigate drug crimes


Deputies from the Gillespie County Sheriff’s Office investigated several crimes last week, including arresting persons for drug possession and driving while intoxicated.


At 11:41 p.m. Monday, Dec. 23, a deputy conducted a traffic stop in the 3100 block of U.S. 290 East. While speaking with the driver, the deputy noticed an odor of marijuana and after a search, marijuana was located in the center console.

Aryan Yazdaniarani, 19, of Pflugerville, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, less than two ounces. Passenger Marcos Diaz-Lagunas, 19, of Austin, was arrested on the same charge.


A deputy made a traffic stop at 9:15 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 24 near 6200 U.S. 290 East.

Contact was made and the deputy learned the driver had a suspended license and was showing signs of intoxication.

Tucker Lee Pawloski, 25, was arrested for driving while license invalid with previous convictions and driving while intoxicated.

At 7:41 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 25, a deputy was at Fritztown Cinema, 2254 U.S. 87 South, and noticed an intoxicated person attempting to leave the premise.

Willem Eversly Ferris, 24, of Austin, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated.

At 5:33 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, a deputy was at Fritztown Cinema and recognized a male who had exited the business and entered the passenger side of a vehicle in the parking lot. The deputy learned the male had a parole warrant.

Bryan David Bard, 24, of Fredericksburg, was arrested on a Blue Warrant-parole violation. He remains detained.

At 1:20 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, a deputy was called to the area of U.S. 290 West and Eichen Strasse for a brokendown vehicle.

The female received help and moved the vehicle to her residence nearby. The deputy learned that she had three outstanding warrants for failure to appear, driving while license invalid with previous convictions and failure to attend school —parent guardian.

Joanna Marie Saenz, 24, of Fredericksburg, was arrested but has since been released.

A deputy was dispatched to U.S. 87 North and Cherry Mountain Loop at 2:20 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 29 for a vehicle blocking the outside lane.

An off-duty deputy at the location found the subject.

Javier Deluna Garcia, 40, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, third or more offense. As of press time, he remains detained.

At 4:32 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29, a deputy was called to Enchanted Rock State Natural Area to assist the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department officer with transporting two subjects who had been arrested for illegal narcotics.


The Gillespie County Sheriff’s Office responded to three minor crashes.

The GSCO also assisted DPS with one crash and the FPD with two crashes.

During the past week, deputies handled 368 calls.

Nine people were arrested by the GCSO and a total of 24 people were booked into jail.

As of Dec. 29, a total of 56 people were in county custody.
