Harper football is hiring a familiar face to lead the program.
Harper Independent School District announced Chad Zenner as the Longhorns’ new head coach, following Mark Kirchhoff's exit to retake the Falls City job.
Zenner started as an assistant football and baseball coach in Harper during the 2015 season and served as the defensive coordinator the past two years.
“We are excited to have Coach Zenner as the next coach to lead the Harper Longhorn Football program,” Harper athletic director Vance Millican said. “Chad was born and raised in Fredericksburg and is a Hill Country boy.”
Zenner takes over after Harper finished 2-8 in Kirchhoff's lone season in Harper. He is the Longhorns third head coach in three years.
Kirchhoff coached Falls City for 16 years, which includes a state championship win in 2010.
