Early signup encouraged for 175th Anniversary Parade


One hundred and seventy-five years is a long time, and given the significance of the city’s anniversary, organizers will host a year-long celebration with many organizations and families marking their role in Fredericksburg’s history.

The Fredericksburg 175th Anniversary Parade will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 8, on Main Street.

“We invite businesses and families with a long history in Fredericksburg to join us by participating in this parade,” said spokesman Daryl Whitworth. “Whether you will see your family in-person or virtually for Thanksgiving and Christmas this year, we encourage you to start planning for this historic event.”

There will be 13 categories for parade entries to choose from:

•  Lasting Faith

•  Lasting Friendship
