Live music combined with a variety of family-friendly activities will highlight the first Spring Fandango on Saturday, May 18.
Gates open at 2 p.m. at the Gillespie County Fair Grounds.
Sponsored by the Gillespie County Fair and Festivals Association, the event will feature four country bands, simulcast horse racing, classic car show, arts and crafts show, goat roping, petting zoo and more.
Admission is $20 for those 13 and up and free for children 12 and under.

Four country bands are scheduled to perform, including the Jessie Stratton Band from 3-5:45 p.m. and John Christopher Way from 6-7:30 p.m.
Special guest Restless Heart will take the stage from 8-9:30 p.m. followed by headliner Sawyer Brown from 10-11:30 p.m.
Other events include simulcast horse racing in the biergarten for the Preakness Stakes from 2-7 p.m. Tellers will be on site.
A classic car show opens at 2:30 p.m. Registration is from 12:30-2 p.m.
Registration fee for the car show is $10. There are no specific classes, and the show is open to all.
This is a judged show, and trophies will be awarded at the conclusion of the Preakness at approximately 6-7 p.m.
A mini peddler/craft show is scheduled from 2-8 p.m. Over 30 vendors will be offering arts and crafts, jewelry, art, furniture, clothing, pottery, handcrafted goods and more.
There will also be a petting zoo with pony rides, and the National Guard will be bringing a rock climbing wall.
There will also be a goat roping contest beginning at 2:30 p.m. Books open at 2 p.m.
Cost is $20 per team (cash only) with a 50 percent payback.
The annual Antique Machinery Show will be taking place at the fair grounds from 8 a.m. to sundown.
