Upscale Ufer Street hotel construction begins

Construction is underway on the future Ufer Street Hotel project, an 86,000 square-foot four-star hotel.

The hotel will likely be called William’s Place, according to owner Kurt Schlunegger, and will be operated under the Best Western Brand, Sadie Hotels, an upscale, boutique brand.

Construction will likely take 18 months, with the opening set for early summer 2021.

The hotel will have 84 rooms for guests. The facility will also have meeting space, a beautician business, a restaurant with a bar and cantina, guest laundry facilities, business center and a game room.

Access to the hotel will be along East Ufer Street and the property will extend to South Llano Street.

Schlunegger said the project also includes a pedestrian foot bridge across Barons Creek.

The hotel will be owner operated and will include environmentallyconscious features and be constructed with green materials.
