Fredericksburg High School’s varsity tennis team is looking to shake off yesterday’s rained out home match against Kerrville Tivy as it heads into three more meets this week, including another run at the Antlers.
On Saturday, Sept. 21, the Billies will host a potential regional team tennis opponent, Hondo, at 8:30 a.m. and then a match against Class-4A Floresville at 1:30 p.m. at the HEB Tennis Center on the FHS campus.
Then, on Tuesday, Sept. 24, Fredericksburg will get another chance to finish off Tivy in a 4 p.m. match at the HEB Tennis Center in Kerrville.
Yesterday afternoon, FHS was on top of the Antlers, 9-5, with five matches still on the court to finish before rain showers forced cancellation for the day around 7:30 p.m.
Kerrville “always matches up very well with us,” said FHS Coach Randall King.
On Saturday, the Billies took two solid wins over Class-5A Cibolo Steele, 10-0 (19-0) and then over Class-4A Schertz Clemens, 10-1 (16-3.)
