Glenn Wayne Kasper

Glenn Wayne Kasper, 62, of Fredericksburg, died Friday, Feb. 19, 2016, at University Hospital in San Antonio.

A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home with Carlos Juenke officiating. Visitation was held beforehand.

Interment of the cremains is planned at a later date.

Kasper was born Feb. 1, 1954, in Fredericksburg, the son of Kenneth Karl Kasper and Kathryn Bernice Reeh Kasper.

He is survived by three daughters, one son and spouses, including Theresa and Vicente Lozano of Stonewall; Kenneth Kasper of Austin, and Tonya Kasper and Tammy Jones, both of Fredericksburg.

Survivors also include nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and his mother, Kathryn, Mrs. Kenneth Kasper, of Fredericksburg.

James Afton Lakey


JAMES AFTON LAKEY

James Afton Lakey, 83, of Harper, died Sunday, Feb. 21, 2016.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, at St. James Lutheran Church in Harper with the Rev. Scott Hofmann officiating.

Interment followed in the Harper Community Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home where visitation was held Wednesday evening, Feb. 24.

Lakey, a retired heavy equipment operator with the Texas Department of Transportation, was born June 5, 1932, the son of Willie and Eddie May Lakey. He married Bessie Grier who preceded him in death.

He is survived by seven children, including James A. Lakey Jr., Justin Lakey and Michael Barganier, all of Harper; Gay Martin, Seguin; Vicki Lynn Barganier, New Braunfels; Connie Triggs and her husband, Dan, Wichita Falls, and Desiree Martin, Sioux Rapids, Iowa.

Survivors also include seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mary Cecile (Cile) Kreppein Murray


MARY CECILE MURRAY

Mary Cecile (Cile) Kreppein Murray, 86, of Clarkdale, Arizona, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016.

A memorial service was held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, at Peace Lutheran Church in Cottonwood, Arizona, with the Rev. Paul Rutschow officiating.

Mrs. Murray was born Aug. 18, 1929, in New Orleans, Louisiana, the daughter of Albert Thomas Kreppein and Mary Louise Grissimon Kreppein. She married Arthur Ellridge Murray on Sept. 5, 1946, in New Orleans, and he survives.

The Murrays were Texas residents until four years ago when they moved to Arizona.

She is survived by four children and spouses, including Ken and Carla Murray of Abilene, Karen and Kenneth Vanek of Fredericksburg, Daena Murray of Austin, and Lynn Murray and husband, Robert Duke, of Clarkdale, Arizona.

She is also survived by seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Ray Ramsey


RAY RAMSEY

Ray Ramsey, 90, of Kerrville, died Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016, at Hilltop Village Nursing and Rehab Center in Kerrville.

Family graveside services and interment were held Wednesday, Feb. 24, at Pleasant Retreat Cemetery in Tyler.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 4, at Hilltop Village Nursing and Rehab Center in Kerrville.

Arrangements were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Ramsey was born Feb. 14, 1926, in Cookville, Tennessee, the son of Alexander Ramsey and Zella Stafford Ramsey. He married Permelia Hankins who preceded him in death.

Survivors include two sons, Harold Lange of Marionville, Missouri and Alexander (Andy) Fay and his wife, Barbara, of Kerrville.

He is also survived by three grandchildren, one great-grandchild; three brothers, Earl Ramsey, Bobby Ramsey and Mick Ramsey, and a sister, Betty Cabrera.

Holly Edward Roberts Jr.


HOLLY EDWARD ROBERTS JR.

Holly Edward Roberts Jr., 83, of Blanco, died Friday, Feb. 19, 2016, in a San Antonio hospital.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 26, in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home with Msgr. Enda McKenna officiating. Visitation was held beforehand.

Interment followed at the Wilke Family Cemetery at Albert.

Roberts was born Sept. 4, 1932, in Midland, the son of Holly E. Roberts Sr. and Lula Louise Wells Roberts. He married Marie Parra on Jan. 26, 1957, in El Paso. She preceded him in death in 2013.

A U.S. Army veteran, Roberts served during the Korean Conflict as a heavy equipment mechanic.

The couple lived in El Paso for several years before moving to Anthony in 1968 where they purchased an auto parts store.

They sold the sore in 1993 and eventually moved to the Hill Country during their retirement.

He was a member of the Anthony Rotary Club, the American Trap Association and the NRA.

Clarabelle Snodgrass

Clarabelle Snodgrass, 102, of Kerrville, died Monday, Feb. 29, 2016.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 5, at Grimes Funeral chapels in Kerrville with interment following in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Kerr County Historical Commission, Kerrville United Daughters of the Confederacy or Western Hills Baptist Church of Kerrville.

Delbert Stone


DELBERT STONE

Delbert Stone, 61, of Fredericksburg, died Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016.

Graveside services and interment were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 29, at Live Oak Cemetery in Manchaca, with Chaplain Bruce Brown officiating.

Stone was born Oct. 21, 1954, in Austin, the son of Ben Stone and Mary Figer Stone.

He was a retired heavy equipment operator, constructing roads and bridges.

Stone is survived by one daughter, one son and spouses, Dawn and Tom Armistead and Wayne and Erin Stone, all of Fredericksburg.

Survivors also include five grandchildren; a sister, Betty Lou Brown, and a brother and sister-in-law, Frankie and Gayle Stone.

Memorials may be made to Hill Country Memorial Hospice, The Good Samaritan Center, Fredericksburg Food Pantry or the charity of choice.

Arrangements were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Mrs. John (Zeo) Weinheimer


MRS. JOHN 'ZEO' WEINHEIMER

Mrs. John (Zeo) Weinheimer, 81, nee Darlene A. Duecker of Fredericksburg, died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2016, at Fredericksburg Nursing and Rehab Center.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 22, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Msgr. Enda McKenna officiating. Mary Ann Murchison was the pianist, and Annette Whittington, the vocalist.

Interment followed at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation and a vigil service were held Sunday evening, Feb. 21.

Mrs. Weinheimer was born Dec. 4, 1934, in Gillespie County, the daughter of Alfred A. Duecker and Adele Anna Pfiester Duecker. She married John (Zeo) Weinheimer on Jan. 23, 1954, in Anchorage, Alaska. He preceded her in death on Jan. 18, 1911.

Betty McElroy Ethel, 89, of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Kenneth P. Hansen, 66, of Fredericksburg, died Sunday, Feb. 21, 2016, at Windcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 24, and 7 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home, with interment following in Der Stadt Friedhof.
