Bill Noah Stafford


BILL NOAH STAFFORD

Bill Noah Stafford, 73, of Fredericksburg, died Saturday, May 31, 2014.

Funeral services were held Friday, June 6, at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home with Tommy LeFan officiating. Visitation was held beforehand.

Private family disposition of his cremains will take place at a later date.

Stafford was born Sept. 1, 1940, in Prairie Grove, Arkansas, the son of Arvel C. Stafford and Dixie Elswick Stafford. He married Vicky Lynn Esensee on Feb. 2, 1991, in Fredericksburg, and she survives.

A Fredericksburg High School graduate, Stafford retired from Central Texas Electric Cooperative where he had worked for 40 years.

He also worked at the local Walmart store for over seven years, and was a long-time member of the Fredericksburg Jaycees.

Mrs. Jerry Faucheux, 69, nee Barbara Ann Wukasch of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, June 4, 2014.

Visitation will be held Saturday, June 7, from 9-10:30 a.m., at St. Paul Lutheran Church at Cave Creek.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 7, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Paul Lutheran Church with interment following in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Zonta Club or to the charity of choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Mrs. Curtis Feller


MRS. CURTIS FELLER

Mrs. Curtis Feller, 80, nee Betsy Brandon of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at Hill Country Memorial Hospital.

A funeral mass was celebrated Saturday, May 24, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Msgr. Enda McKenna officiating. Mary Ann Murchison was the pianist, and Annette Whittington, the vocalist.

Interment followed in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation and a vigil service were held Friday evening, May 23.

Mrs. Feller was born Oct. 19, 1933, in Fredericksburg, the daughter of Andrew Brandon and Mathilda Lott Brandon.

She married Curtis Feller on Oct. 28, 1950, in Fredericksburg. He preceded her in death on Oct. 6, 1994.

Marvin E. Jander

Marvin E. Jander, 84, of Fredericksburg, died Sunday, June 1, 2014.

Funeral services are being held today, Wednesday, June 4, at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church with interment following in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, Hill Country Memorial Hospital, Hill Country Memorial Hospice or the Pedernales Animal Welfare Society (PAWS).

Arrangements are under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Mrs. Arthur Koennecke Sr., 101, nee Gertrude Eichholz of Fredericksburg, died Saturday, May 31, 2014, at Knopp Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services were held today, Wednesday, June 4, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home with interment following at Greenwood Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Hill Country Memorial Hospice, the Wounded Warriors or to the charity of choice.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Anthony Joseph Maimer, 81, of Fredericksburg, died Monday, June 2, 2014.

Graveside services with military honors, and entombment of his cremains, will be held Friday, June 6, at 9 a.m., at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.

A rosary service and memorial mass will be held on Friday, June 6, at 2 p.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Memorials may be made to the charity of choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Mrs. Kenneth Thomas


MRS. KENNETH THOMAS

Mrs. Kenneth Thomas, 73, nee Maedelle Woerner of San Saba, died Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at Hill Country Memorial Hospital.

A memorial service was held Saturday, May 31, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Brand officiating.

Visitation was held beforehand.

Mrs. Thomas was born Jan. 14, 1941, in Fredericksburg, the daughter of Alonzo Louis Woerner and Christine Wilhelmina Sauer Woerner. She married Kenneth Thomas on Feb. 22, 1961, in Mexico. He preceded her in death on April 18, 2014.

Mrs. Thomas is survived by two daughters, two sons and spouses, including Alesha and Collin Barta, Rhonda Grady and Todd and Melinda Thomas, all of San Saba, and Craig and Sha Thomas of Crane.

Survivors also include 15 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Audelle Burkey and her husband, Randy, of Doss, and Joyce Roberts of Friendswood.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Wilma Voight Ulbricht

Wilma Voight Ulbricht, 83, nee Wilma Louise Holland, of San Angelo, died Friday, May 30, 2014.

Graveside services and interment were held Monday, June 2, at 1 p.m. at the Willow City Cemetery in Willow City.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaffer Funeral Home/Sherwood Way, San Angelo.

Mrs. Ulbricht was born July 12, 1930, in the Willow City community of Gillespie County, the daughter of Wesley Holland and Lillie Moehle Holland. She married Howard Voight on June 21, 1947.  After the loss of her first husband, she married Walter Ulbricht of Tucson, Arizona, in 1983. 

She was a resident of San Angelo and a member of The World Wide Church of God.

Mrs. Ulbricht is survived by her children, Rodney Voight of Fredericksburg, Linda Sue Waterhouse of San Angelo, and Howard Dean Voight of Snyder; nine grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Devon Schneider Vela


DEVON SCHNEIDER VELA

Devon Schneider Vela, 41, of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, May 28, 2014.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 31, at 10 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church with the Rev. Rick Hartmann officiating.

Interment followed in the Schneider Family Cemetery at Cherry Spring.

Arrangements were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home where visitation was held Friday evening, May 30.

Mrs. Vela was born Nov. 10, 1972, in Fredericksburg, the daughter of Dennis Schneider and Doris Jane Birck Schneider. She married Pedro Vela Jr. on Dec. 30, 1991, and he survives.

For over 20 years, she worked at Hill Country Memorial Hospital, serving as a ward clerk and phlebotomist.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Vela is survived by a daughter, Destiny Nadine Vela of Fredericksburg, and one grandson.
