Anna B. Forrester


ANNA B. FORRESTER

Anna B. Forrester, 92, of Fredericksburg, died Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at Fredericksburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Arrangements were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home where visitation was held Saturday afternoon, April 4.

Graveside services and interment were held at 10 a.m., Monday, April 6, at Forest Park Lawndale in Houston, with her two sons officiating.

Mrs. Forrester was born Aug. 25, 1922, in Hobart, Oklahoma, the daughter of Doris Ray Bowman and Anna Kate Bowman. She married Herman Forrester on June 9, 1940, in Houston. He preceded her in death in 1995.

Mrs. Forrester was a secretary for the Houston Independent School District, and after spending most of her life in Houston, she and her husband retired to Trinity. Following his death, she moved to Fredericksburg.

Mrs. Forrester is survived by two sons, Ron Forrester of Austin, and Joe Forrester and his wife, Susan, of Summit, New Jersey, and two grandchildren.

Jacob Louis (Skip) Knopp


JACOB 'SKIP' KNOPP

Jacob Louis (Skip) Knopp, 82, of Fredericksburg, died Tuesday, March 24, 2015.

A rosary service was held at 9:30 a.m., today, Wednesday, April 8, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Deacon Patrick Klein officiating.

A memorial mass followed at 10 a.m. with Msgr. Enda McKenna officiating.

Entombment services in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum will take place at a later date.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Knopp was born May 7, 1932, in Fredericksburg, the son of Jacob Peter Knopp and Ruth Brown Knopp.

Knopp attended St. Mary’s School and graduated from St. Mary’s High School.

A United States Navy veteran, he served from April 24, 1951, until April 12, 1955, during the Korean Conflict. Upon discharge, he was ranked as a yeoman first class.

Knopp was a 1958 University of Texas graduate, receiving a bachelor of business administration degree.

He is survived by numerous cousins.

Matthew Wayne (Matt) Lang, 56, of Harper, died Saturday, April 4, 2015, in a San Antonio care facility.

A funeral Mass is being celebrated today, Wednesday, April 8, at 2 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with interment following at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Harper.

Memorials may be made to Methodist Healthcare Vitas Hospice in San Antonio or to the charity of choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.

William R. (Bill) Nelson, 89, of Fredericksburg, died Monday, April 6, 2015.

David H. Ransleben, 69, of San Antonio, died Wednesday, April 1, 2015.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m., today, Wednesday, April 8, at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church, 1523 Iowa St., San Antonio. A rosary service will begin at 7 p.m. at the church.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, April 9, at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church.

Graveside services and interment will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, April 9, at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Fredericksburg.

Arrangements are under the direction of Camero Funeral Home of San Antonio.

Mrs. Kenneth Raymond


MRS. KENNETH RAYMOND

Mrs. Kenneth Raymond, 94, nee Hazel Irma Barnett of Fredericksburg, died Sunday, March 22, 2015, at Fredericksburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

A memorial service was held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 7, at Memorial Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Ann Hoch officiating.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Mrs. Raymond was born July 11, 1920, in Deweyville, the daughter of William Charlie Barnett and Rosa Cranford Barnett. She married Kenneth Raymond on Aug. 20, 1959, in Lubbock, and he survives.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Raymond is survived by two sons, OJ (Jerry) Hanna of Brownwood and John and Sherry Hanna of Fredericksburg.

Survivors also include three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Edna, Mrs. Gordon Raymond, and a sister-in-law and spouse, Carol and Leo Neis, all of Wisconsin.

Patricia Ann Thiele


PATRICIA ANN THIELE

Patricia Ann Thiele, 73, of Fredericksburg, died Sunday, March 29, 2015, at Knopp Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 1, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Msgr. Enda McKenna officiating. Mary Ann Murchison was the pianist, and Annette Whittington, the vocalist.

Interment followed at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation was held Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning.

A vigil service was held Tuesday evening, March 31, at the funeral chapel.

Ms. Thiele was born May 27, 1941, at Rocksprings, the daughter of Marvin Henry Thiele and Mary Theresa Rischner Thiele.

She worked at Hill Country Memorial Hospital as a ward clerk and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include a sister-in-law, Norma, Mrs. Kermit Thiele.

Mrs. John E. Vaughn, 91, nee Frances Thomson of Fredericksburg, died Monday, April 6, 2015, at Knopp Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Arrangements are under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation will be held Thursday, April 9, from 1-2 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, April 9, in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home, with interment following at Greenwood Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church or to the charity of choice.

Eugene Gordon Geistweidt, 90, of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, April 1, 2015.

Arrangements are under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation will be held Friday, April 3, from 2:30-5:30 p.m., and Saturday, April 4, from 8 a.m.-12:45 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 4, at 1 p.m., at Bethany Lutheran Church.

Graveside services and interment will follow at Gooch Cemetery in Mason.

Memorials may be made to Hill Country Memorial Hospital, Bethany Lutheran Church, St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mason or to the charity of choice.

Donna L. Ketchbaw, 73, of Fredericksburg, died Tuesday, March 31, 2015, as the result of injuries received in a motor vehicle accident.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m., Monday, April 6, at the chapel at Greenwood Cemetery.
