Mrs. Raymond Tatsch


MRS. RAYMOND TATSCH

Mrs. Raymond Tatsch, 81, nee Martha Lindig of Fredericksburg, died Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Aug. 22, at 10:30 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church with the Reverends Elliott Pancoast, Casey Zesch and Travis Meyer officiating.

Interment followed at Greenwood Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home where visitation was held Wednesday evening and Thursday morning.

Mrs. Tatsch was born July 10, 1932, in Gillespie County, the daughter of Erwin L. Lindig and Erna E. Armke Lindig. She married Raymond Tatsch on Sept. 3, 1949, in Trinity Lutheran Church at Stonewall. He preceded her in death.

Years ago, she worked at the Winn’s store, was a nurse’s aide, and she and her husband owned and operated The Organic Garden Center.

Anna L. Wooten


ANNA L. WOOTEN

Anna L. Wooten, 82, nee Westberry, of Fredericksburg and Beaumont, died Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, in a Beaumont hospital.

Graveside services and interment were held Friday, Aug. 23, at 2 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery with the Rev. Fred Bates officiating.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation was held Thursday evening, Aug. 22.

Mrs. Wooten was born Nov. 19, 1930, in Brunswick, Ga., the daughter of Gordon F. Westberry and Madeline Arnette Westberry. She married Bobby E. Wooten on Sept. 9, 1960, in Jefferson County, and he survives.

Through the years, she worked at Nederland Pharmacy and Olmstede Machine Works in Beaumont.

Upon retirement in 1989, the Wootens moved to Fredericksburg, and in May 2013, the couple moved to Pelican Bay Assisted Living Community in Beaumont.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Wooten is survived by a brother-in-law, James Hester of Pensacola, Fla.

Scott Bryan Yelverton

Scott Bryan Yelverton, 40, died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013, in San Antonio.

Memorial services were held Thursday, Aug. 15, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.

Yelverton was born May 6, 1973, in San Antonio, and is survived by his parents, Bill Yelverton of Fredericksburg and Trish and Chris Beller of Comming, Ga.; his sister, Jennie Genzer of Houston, and his step-children, Ian, Conner, Hayden and Emily, of Katy.

Yelverton was a decorated United States Army combat veteran and was one of the soldiers in the book “Operation Casablanca.”

Mrs. Teofilo Cantu, 85, nee Dr. Beatrice Martinez of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013, at Knopp Assisted Living Center.

Visitation will be held Friday, Aug. 23, from 4-6 p.m., and Saturday, Aug. 24, from 7-10 a.m., in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home where the funeral will begin at 10 a.m.

Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Hill Country Memorial Hospice, St. Mary’s School Endowment Fund or to the charity of choice.

Lester A. Grosenbacher


LESTER A. GROSENBACHER

Lester A. Grosenbacher, 88, of Comfort, died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013, at Trinity Mission Health and Rehab Center.

Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 16, at 1 p.m. at Schaetter Funeral Home in Comfort with the Rev. Keith Shelley officiating.

Interment followed in the Comfort Cemetery.

Visitation was held Thursday evening, Aug. 15, at the funeral home.

Grosenbacher was born Jan. 8, 1925, in the Crabapple community of Gillespie County, the son of Ernst Grosenbacher Sr. and Ella Kast Grosenbacher. He married Lucile Spenrath on June 25, 1950, in Comfort. She preceded him in death.

A United States Navy veteran, Grosenbacher served during World War II as a gunner aboard the USS George F. Elliot, USS Tuscaloosa and the USS Mary E. Kinney.

He operated the Sinclair Service Station in Comfort from 1950-1964, and owned an auto parts store for 25 years.

Clinton Russell (Clint) Hierholzer, 83, of Fredericksburg, died Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013.

Funeral services were held today, Wednesday, Aug. 21, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Graveside services with military honors and interment followed at Greenwood Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the charity of choice.

Kenneth Edward Locklin, 64, of Fredericksburg, died Monday, Aug. 19, 2013.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 23, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Interment will follow Friday at 2:30 p.m. in Forest Oaks Memorial Park in Austin.

Mrs. Holly E. Roberts Jr., 79, nee Marie Parra of Stonewall, died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013.

A funeral mass was celebrated Friday, Aug. 16, at 11 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Stonewall.

 Interment of the cremains is planned at a later date.

Memorials may be made to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Hill Country Memorial Hospice or to the charity of choice.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Brian Douglas Vickers


BRIAN DOUGLAS VICKERS

Brian Douglas Vickers, 41, of Doss, died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013.

A memorial service was held Saturday, Aug. 10, at 10 a.m. at the Country Inn Cottages Convention Center on Lower Crabapple Road.

A memorial service in Orlando, Fla., was held Saturday, Aug. 17.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Vickers was born Aug. 24, 1971, in Orlando, Fla., the son of Charles W. Vickers and Frieda Turner Vickers.

He moved to the Texas Hill Country three years ago and was employed as the ranch manager at the White Ghost Ranch at Doss.

Survivors include his wife, Holley Cenate Vickers of Doss; two sons, Cody Vickers and Tristan Vickers; one step-son, Anthony Redmon, and two step-daughters, Donna Jones and Jessica Jones.

He is also survived by two brothers, Brett Vickers and Chuck Vickers, and one sister, Pam Vickers.

Vickers was preceded in death by his parents.
