Dorothy Lee Henderson


DOROTHY HENDERSON

Dorothy Lee Henderson, 89, nee Haberer, of Llano, died Wednes­day, June 19, 2013.

A memorial service was held Monday, June 24, at Waldrope Funeral Chapel in Llano.

Mrs. Henderson was born June 27, 1923, in Uhland, the daughter of William Max Haberer and Louise Marie Reidel Haberer.

She married Morris Henderson on July 25, 1947. He preceded her in death on Jan. 11, 2012.

During World War II, she was employed as a payroll clerk at the Camp Gary Air Base in San Marcos. She later accepted a position at the Internal Revenue Service offices in Austin.

The Hendersons lived at Buda a short time until their move to Llano County in 1948.

She was active with the Llano Home Demonstration Club for over 50 years, and at one time or another, held every office except chairman.

Mrs. Henderson is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Jean Henderson; one sister, Lavernia Eilers; four step-children, and seven step-grandchildren.

Martin Henry Lindig

May 28, 1929 - June 20, 2013

Martin Henry Lindig was born on May 28, 1929 to Emil and Ida Meckle Lindig at Hye, Texas.  He died at home on June 20, 2013 at the age of 84 years.

He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, where he was a life member.

He attended the Junction School for the lower grades and graduated from Johnson City High School.

On July 25, 1948, Martin married Mavis Fuchs at the Methodist Church in Johnson City.  They have five children, David and Elizabeth Lindig of Johnson City, Nicky and Trina Lindig of Mancos, CO, Dianne and Ken Becker of Temple, Chris and Karlette Lindig of Johnson City, and Laurie and R.D. Childers of Austin.

James Dalton Vollmar


JAMES DALTON VOLLMAR

James Dalton Vollmar, 80, of Buchanan Dam, died Wednesday, June 12, 2013.

A memorial service was held Saturday, June 22, at 2 p.m. at Putnam Funeral Home in Kingsland. Military honors were accorded by the Highland Lakes Honor Guard.

Private inurnment of the ashes will be held.

Vollmar was born Feb. 8, 1933, in Fredericksburg, the son of Alfred Vollmar and Anita Hilda Gellerman Bankhead Vollmar. He married Nancy Chesher 10 years ago and she survives.

He served in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force, retiring from the Air Force after 20 years of service.

He was a member of the Kiwanis Club, Bandera Rodeo Association, PGA Association and the NRA.

In addition to his wife, Vollmar is survived by one son, Michael J. Vollmar of Leander; one daughter, Karen D. Vollmar Lawrence of Hutto, and two step-daughters, Keatha A. Brown and Marliese J. Stripling.

Mrs. Eugene R. Alt

Mrs. Eugene R. Alt, 86, nee Celia Cabezas of Fredericksburg, died Tuesday, June 11, 2013.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 15, at 11 a.m. at Victory Fellowship Church with the Rev. Michael Burdick officiating.

Graveside services and interment were held Tuesday, June 18, at 10:15 a.m. at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to ENLACE Christian Television or to Victory Fellowship Church.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Ronald Ray Armstrong


RONALD RAY ARMSTRONG

Ronald Ray Armstrong, 62, of Los Lunas, N.M., and formerly of Fredericksburg, died Tuesday, June 4, 2013.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 10, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home with the Rev. Neal Matthews officiating.

Graveside services with full military honors and interment followed at Der Stadt Friedhof.

Visitation was held Sunday evening and Monday morning at the funeral home.

Armstrong was born March 26, 1951, at Fort Hood, the son of James Armstrong and Helen Rischner Armstrong. His wife, the former Laura Schouw, survives.

Armstrong served in the United States Air Force from March 1979 until November 2002. At the time of his discharge, he had achieved the rank of lieutenant colonel.

Conrad Farnhof, 82, of Fredericksburg, died Saturday, June 15, 2013.

A memorial service is being held today, Wednesday, June 19, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Hill Country SPCA or to the charity of choice.

Robert A. Foster, 78, of Fredericksburg, died Monday, June 17, 2013.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 22, at 10 a.m. at Fredericksburg United Methodist Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Isidro Gurrola

Isidro Gurrola, 60, of Fredericksburg, died Friday, June 7, 2013, at Peterson Regional Medical Center in Kerrville.

A funeral mass was celebrated Tuesday, June 11, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Msgr. Enda McKenna officiating.

Interment followed at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation and a vigil service were held Monday evening, June 10.

Gurrola was born June 1, 1953, in Mexico, the son of Lazaro Gurrola and Consuelo Ordaz Gurrola. He married Maria Neri who preceded him in death.

He is survived by four daughters, one son and spouses, including Juan and Concepcion Gurrola of Kerrville, and Maria C. Gurrola and Ruben Ramirez, Maria C. and Felipe Neri, and Rocio Gurrola and Antonio Neri, and Maria and Erick Turniel, all of Fredericksburg

Survivors also include 21 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and his father, Lazaro Gurrola of Mexico.

HENRY LOUIS HERBORT

Henry Louis Herbort

July 23, 1934 - June 8, 2013

Henry Louis Herbort, of Fredericksburg, passed away at his home on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at the age of 78.

Henry Louis was born on July 23, 1934 in Gillespie County, Texas to Orwin and Wolga Moellering Herbort.

He married Dorothy Ann Birck on April 10, 1955 in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, Fredericksburg and she survives.

Over the years, Henry Louis worked in the road construction field, including at Allen Keller Construction Company and also at Gold Sand and Gravel.

Later on, he devoted full time to farming and ranching. He was a true outdoorsman and loved the land and his cattle.

In addition to his wife, Henry Louis is survived by two sons and spouses: Dean and Julie Herbort of Fredericksburg and Duane and Dovie Herbort of San Antonio.

Esperanza M. Holford

A celebration of life for Esperanza M. Holford, who died May 6, 2013, will be held Wednesday, July 3, from 3-5 p.m. at the Post Oak School House, located on FM 2721, in Blanco County.
