Hayden Daniel Pfiester

Hayden Daniel Pfiester, 20, of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, May 27, 2015, as the result of injuries received in a motor vehicle accident.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, June 5, at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church with the Rev. David Priem officiating.

The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m., Friday, at the church.

Graveside services and interment of the cremains follows at Greenwood Cemetery.

Pfiester was born Dec. 14, 1994, in Fredericksburg.

Survivors include his parents, Bryan Pfiester and Tabitha Olfers Pfiester; one brother, Kohwen Pfiester, and one sister, Daisha Pfiester, all of Fredericksburg.

He is also survived by his grandparents, Danny and Linda Pfiester and Earl and Ruby Olfers, and great-grandparents, Erline Jenschke and Roland Borchers, all of Fredericksburg.

Memorials may be made to the Frantzen-Ahrens Post 7105 Veterans of Foreign Wars or to the charity of choice.

Brandon Leroy Strackbein

Brandon Leroy Strackbein, 20, of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, May 27, 2015, as the result of injuries received in a motor vehicle accident.

Memorial services were held at 10 a.m., Friday, May 29, in the chapel at Schaetter Funeral Home with the Rev. Pam Traver officiating.

The family received friends from 9-10 a.m., Friday, in the funeral chapel.

Private interment of the cremains is planned at a later date.

Strackbein was born May 5, 1995, in Fredericksburg.

Survivors include his parents, David and Courtney Strackbein; four sisters and one brother: Kelsey Howard, Alexas Strackbein, Dustin Strackbein, Skye Strackbein and Molly Strackbein.

He is also survived by his grandparents, Leroy and JoAnn Esensee and Judy Bernice Czjka.

Memorials may be made to the charity of choice.

Mrs. Erwin Weber

Mrs. Erwin Weber, 91, nee Rosa (Rose) Segner, of Fredericksburg, died Saturday, May 16, 2015.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 20, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Msgr. Enda McKenna officiating. Mary Ann Murchison was the organist, and Jackie Kunz, the vocalist.

Interment followed at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation and a rosary service, led by Deacon Pat Klein, were held Tuesday evening, May 19.

Mrs. Weber was born July 21, 1923, in Fredericksburg, the daughter of Albert Segner and Ludmilla Klein Segner. She married Erwin Weber on June 13, 1950, in San Angelo. He preceded her in death on Aug. 7, 2012.

Mrs. Weber is survived by three daughters and spouses, including Geraldine and David Terry of Hanover, Massachusetts; Marilyn and Rick Strickland, Fort Worth, and Adeline and Don Cote, San Antonio, and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 30, at 10 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church at Stonewall, with interment following at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Hill Country Memorial Hospice, Trinity Lutheran Church or the Stonewall First Responders.

Reba Sue Hudnall Eddins


REBA SUE HUDNALL EDDINS

Reba Sue Hudnall Eddins, 89, of Silver Spring, Maryland and formerly of Fredericksburg, died Friday, May 8, 2015.

Graveside services and interment were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 16, at the Johnson City Masonic Cemetery in Johnson City.

Arrangements were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Mrs. Eddins was born Nov. 14, 1925, in Austin, the daughter of Willis Howell Hudnall and Bessie Idella Galloway Hudnall. She married Joseph Moye Eddins on April 29, 1945, at First United Methodist Church in Johnson City. He preceded her in death in 2007.

The couple resided in Austin for 21 years, during which she worked as a secretary at the Texas Employment Commission.

While living in Austin, she was a member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Tarrytown.

The Eddins family moved to Towson, Maryland, in 1967, and after her husband’s retirement, the couple moved to Fredericksburg in 1993.
