Laverne Parker

Laverne Parker, 96, nee Bode, of Harper, died Monday, April 13, 2015.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home where visitation will be held Thursday, April 16, from 5-7 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 17, at 10 a.m., at Lighthouse Fellowship Chapel in Harper, with interment following in the Noxville Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Lighthouse Fellowship Chapel or to the Noxville Cemetery.

Ernie Platfoot, 86, of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, April 8, 2015.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, May 2, at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church.

Interment at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery is planned at a later date.

David H. Ransleben


DAVID H. RANSLEBEN

David H. Ransleben, 69, of San Antonio, died Wednesday, April 1, 2015.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Thursday, April 9, at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church in San Antonio.

Graveside services and interment were held at 1 p.m., Thursday, at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Fredericksburg.

Visitation and a rosary service were held Wednesday evening, April 8, at St. Gerard’s.

Arrangements were under the direction of Camero Funeral Home of San Antonio.

Ransleben was born Feb. 18, 1946, in Fredericksburg, the son of Henry Wilhelm Ransleben and Mildred Maria Reeh Ransleben. He married Alice Helen Kraus on July 2, 1967. She preceded him in death.

He was a plumber/pipefitter/welder with the Local 142 plumbers and pipefitters union in San Antonio.

Maxine Ross Roussel

Maxine Ross Roussel, 91, nee McClatchey, of Arthur City, died Sunday, April 5, 2015, at Stillhouse Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Paris, Texas.

Graveside services and interment were held at 3 p.m., Thursday, April 9, in Fredericksburg at Der Stadt Friedhof.

Arrangements were under the direction of Bright-Holland Funeral Home of Paris, Texas.

Mrs. Roussel was born Feb. 12, 1924, in Moline, Illinois, the daughter of Russell McClatchey and Marjorie Ida Wiltamuth McClatchey. She married Albert A. Roussel, April 9, 1944. He preceded her in death on July 21, 2008.

Prior to marriage, Mrs. Roussel attended nurses training. Later on, she worked in the Comal County tax and licensing office in New Braunfels for several years.

She also worked for a period of time as an office manager for an ophthalmologist in Austin and also for the Friedrich Air Conditioning Co. in San Antonio.

Mrs. Carroll A. Sultemeier, 77, nee Sue Ann Woods, of Fredericksburg, died Friday, April 10, 2015.

Arrangements are under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation will be held Friday, April 17, from 5-7 p.m.

Graveside services and interment will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 18, at Greenwood Cemetery.

Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 18, at First Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, toward cancer research or to the charity of choice.

Kenneth L. Watkins

Kenneth L. Watkins, of Fredericksburg, died Monday, April 13, 2015.

Interment of the cremains in Tescott, Kansas will be held at a later date.

Freddie Clyde Armke


FREDDIE CLYDE ARMKE

Freddie Clyde Armke, 89, of Hye, died Thursday, March 26, 2015.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, March 30, at Crofts-Crow Funeral Home in Johnson City, with interment following at Rocky Creek Cemetery.

Visitation was held Sunday evening, March 29, at the funeral chapel.

Armke was born July 12, 1925, in the Flat Creek community of Blanco County, the son of Erich Armke and Ottilie Heidrich Armke. He married Joyce Dean Nowotny on Thanksgiving Day, 1949. They had been married for 62 years at the time she died.

Armke was a World War II veteran, serving from 1943-1946 with the U.S. Navy during the Pacific Campaign.

Upon returning from military service, he worked at the Blanco Locker Plant.

In 1968, the Armkes moved to the AR Ranch, which later became the Byram Ranch. They lived there until moving to Hye when he was 80.

Ronald Tye (Ron) Belcik


RONALD TYE (RON) BELCIK

Ronald Tye (Ron) Belcik, 57, of Fredericksburg, died Monday, March 30, 2015.

Arrangements and cremation were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Private services are planned by the family.

Belcik was born Jan. 27, 1958, in Winters, the son of Thomas Belcik and Delores Sekerka Belcik.

He is survived by two sisters, one brother and spouses, including Jeannette and Rayburn Houston of Llano, ReNee and Andre Nadeau of San Antonio and Eddie Belcik of Fredericksburg.

Belcik’s parents preceded him in death.

Memorials may be made to Serenity House or the charity of choice.
