John Lee (Coonie) Kasper

John Lee (Coonie) Kasper, 53, of Fredericksburg, died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2014, at Fredericksburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

A memorial service will be held Friday, Sept. 19, at 4 p.m., in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 3-4 p.m., Friday, at the funeral chapel.

Interment of the cremains will take place at a later date.

Memorials may be made to Hill Country Memorial Hospice or to the charity of choice.

Curtis Kuhlmann


CURTIS KUHLMANN

Curtis Kuhlmann, 85, of Mason, died Friday, Sept. 5, 2014.

Graveside services with military honors and interment were held Monday, Sept. 8, at 10 a.m. at Gooch Cemetery in Mason with Roger Jordan officiating.

Arrangements were under the direction of Mason Funeral Home where visitation was held Sunday evening, Sept. 7.

Kuhlmann was born Dec. 4, 1928, in Fredericksburg, the son of Harry Kuhlmann and Wanda Burrer Kuhlmann. After graduating from high school, he served in the U.S. Navy from 1946 to 1949.

After leaving the Navy, Kuhlmann married Annabel Loth. In earlier years, his family lived in West Texas where he worked with an oil company on a seismograph crew.

Later, moving back to Fredericksburg, Kuhlmann worked with his father-in-law, Eddie Loth, managing Pioneer Service Station.

Kuhlmann then worked as a barber in Fredericksburg for 15 years with Robert Pape.

Mae Janette Lochte


MAE JANETTE LOCHTE

Mae Janette Lochte, 72, of San Antonio, died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, Sept. 8, at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church with the Rev. David Priem officiating.

Interment followed at Der Stadt Friedhof.

Arrangements were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Ms. Lochte was born Aug. 14, 1942, in Fredericksburg, the daughter of Chester Lochte and Annie Beyer Lochte.

After graduation from college, she worked for many years in the accounting department of Joske’s of Texas. She later went on to do accounting work for other firms.

Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law, Laverne and Cedric Hall of San Antonio.

Pallbearers included Kirk Phifer, Kyle Hall, Kevin Lochte, Leroy Beyer, Sam Sanders, Terry Bonn and Carey Bonn.

Memorials may be made to Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, Gethsemane Lutheran Church in San Antonio or to the charity of choice.

Ralph Eugene McCullough II

Ralph Eugene McCullough II, 86, of Brownwood, died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014.

Funeral services are being held at 1 p.m., today, Wednesday, Sept. 17, at Davis Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Brownwood, with interment following at Eastlawn Memorial Park.

Wanda Schievelbein

Wanda Schievelbein, 89, nee Focks, of Fredericksburg, died Monday, Sept. 8, 2014.

No services are planned at this time.

Arrangements and cremation were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Mrs. Schievelbein was born Oct. 9, 1924, in Marysville, Kansas, the daughter of Albert Focks and Lillian Flower Focks. She married Eugene Schievelbein who preceded her in death.

Prior to retirement, she worked as a legal secretary for a law firm.

She is survived by a daughter, Gena Carter of Fredericksburg; one grandson, and a sister, Donna Ruth of Kansas City, Kansas.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Schievelbein was preceded in death by two sisters, Marjorie Cass-Wisner and Imogene Butler.

Memorials may be made to Pioneer Memorial Library or to the charity of choice.

Mrs. Wilton C. Sturdivant Jr.


MRS. WILTON C. STURDIVANT JR.

Mrs. Wilton C. Sturdivant Jr., 93, nee Betty Jane Shoupe of Fredericksburg, died Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014, at Fredericksburg Nursing and Rehab.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 10, in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home with the Rev. Pam Traver officiating.

Interment followed at Der Stadt Friedhof.

Visitation was held Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning at the funeral home.

Mrs. Sturdivant was born May 15, 1921, in Watkins, Oklahoma, the daughter of Clayton L. Shoupe and Rose Davis Shoupe. She married Wilton C. Sturdivant Jr. on June 20, 1942. He preceded her in death on Feb. 3, 2001.

She is survived by two daughters, one son and spouses, including Sue Sturdivant of Dallas, Jim and Linda Sturdivant of Carrollton and Sally and Mike Clark of Fredericksburg.

Survivors also include four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a sister and brother-in-law, Norma and Richard Wade of Dallas.

Willow Sofie Anderson

Willow Sofie Anderson, 93, nee Gilliam, of Fredericksburg, died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014.

Arrangements were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Services and interment of the ashes is planned in West Columbia.

Mrs. Anderson was born March 12, 1921, in Brazoria, the daughter of Mason Gilliam and Willow Vollbaum Gilliam. She married Junior Anderson who preceded her in death.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Terry Anderson of Fredericksburg; a daughter-in-law, Linda Anderson of Brazoria; one grandson, and a sister, Joyce Sanders of Clute.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by a son, Joe-Eddy Anderson, and numerous brothers and sisters.

Memorials may be made to the ALS Association or to the charity of choice.

Bobby Joe Banes


BOBBY JOE BANES

Bobby Joe Banes, 74, of Fredericksburg, died Monday, Sept. 1, 2014.

Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 5, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Fredericksburg Funeral Home with the Rev. George Watts officiating.

Interment followed at Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation was held Friday afternoon before the funeral.

Banes was born April 13, 1940, in Nyota, Alabama, the son of Charlie M. Banes and Margaret Banes. He married Carla Reid on Feb. 13, 1972, in Galveston County, and she survives.

In addition to his wife, Banes is survived by three children and spouses, including Connie and Kevin Miller of Celina; Richard and Debra Ricks of Spring, and Rob and Jenice Ricks of Humble; 10 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Charlene and Jay Capers of Cold Springs, and a brother and sister-in-law, Randy and Connie Banes of Cleveland.

Mrs. Glenn Campbell

Mrs. Glenn Campbell, 86, nee Margaret (Ricky) Noel of Fredericksburg, died Monday, Sept. 8, 2014.

The family will receive friends Saturday, Sept. 13, from 10-11 a.m., at Fredericksburg United Methodist Church where the funeral will begin at 11 a.m.

Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Hill Country Memorial Hospice, Special Olympics, Wounded Warriors or to the charity of choice.

Clydean Everitt Hearn

Clydean Everitt Hearn, 92, of Fredericksburg, died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014.

Graveside services and interment were held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 30, at Holly Hills Memorial Park of Granbury, with her son, the Rev. Buff Hearn, officiating.

Arrangements were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hearn was born Nov. 2, 1921, in Sterling City, the daughter of Clyde Everitt and Mildred Hooker Everitt. She married Wylie Hearn who preceded her in death.

She is survived by two sons, one daughter and spouses, including Buff and Sandy Hearn of Amarillo, Peni Gardner of Granbury, and Russ and Wendy Hearn of Fredericksburg; five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Hearn was preceded in death by a sister, Billie Sue Higdon.

Memorials may be made to Hill Country SPCA or to the charity of choice.
