Barbara Henke Clute, 64, of Fredericksburg, died Sunday, June 22, 2014.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 27, at 2 p.m., at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville, with interment following in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Zion Lutheran Church Building Fund.

Louis Otto Dietrich Jr., 60, of Harper, died Sunday, June 22, 2014.

Funeral services are being held today, Wednesday, June 25, at 2 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church with interment following at Greenwood Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Bethany Lutheran Church or to the charity of choice.

Mrs. Claude Gray Jr.


MRS. CLAUDE GRAY JR.

Mrs. Claude Gray Jr., 85, the former Eula Marie Chappell Perrault, of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, June 11, 2014.

Memorial services were held Saturday, June 21, at 2 p.m. at Hill Country Evangelical Free Church with the Rev. John Hierholzer officiating.

Visitation was held beforehand.

Graveside services and interment of her cremains will take place at a later date.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Mrs. Gray was born Sept. 17, 1928, in Arp, the daughter of Joe Oscar Chappell and Ada Ann Delia Driver Chappell. She married Joseph F. Perrault Jr. and Claude H. Gray Jr., both of whom preceded her in death.

She is survived by a daughter, Jackie Marie Perrault and her husband, Charles Zambrano of Dripping Springs, and one son, Joseph Wayne Perrault of Universal City.

Dr. Malcolm E. (Mac) Hunter Jr.


DR. MALCOLM E. (MAC) HUNTER JR.

Dr. Malcolm E. (Mac) Hunter Jr., 91, of Fredericksburg, died Friday, June 13, 2014.

Private interment of the cremains is planned at a later date.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Mona Hunter; two children and two step-children: Charles R. Hunter, Susan Hunter, Nancy Sowell and Robert Hale.

Hunter practiced internal medicine for 35 years after serving eight and one-half years in the United States Navy.

Memorials may be made to Hill Country Memorial Hospice or to the charity of choice.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Mrs. Eugene Jenschke


MRS. EUGENE JENSCHKE

Mrs. Eugene Jenschke, 94, nee Ruby Elizabeth Hopf of Fredericksburg, died Sunday, June 15, 2014, at Knopp Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

A funeral mass was celebrated Wednesday, June 18, at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Stonewall with the Rev. Jim Harnan officiating. DeAnn Hampton was the organist, and Lottie Demel, the vocalist.

Interment followed in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Fredericksburg.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation and vigil-rosary services were held Tuesday evening, June 17.

Mrs. Jenschke was born Aug. 31, 1919, in the Luckenbach community, the daughter of August Hopf and Erna Doebbler Hopf. She married Eugene Jenschke on Oct. 8, 1940, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on Aug. 5, 1970.

Mrs. Charles Meyer


BARBARA MEYER

Mrs. Charles Meyer, 68, nee Barbara Ann Pehl of Fredericksburg, died Monday, June 16, 2014.

A memorial service was held Thursday, June 19, at 11 a.m. at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church with the Rev. David Priem officiating.

Arrangements were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home where visitation was held Wednesday evening, June 18.

Mrs. Meyer was born Dec. 2, 1945, in the Luckenbach community, the daughter of Werner Pehl and Agnes Jenschke Pehl. She married Charles Meyer on Feb. 13, 1971, at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church and he survives.

For over 20 years, she was the District Clerk for Gillespie County.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Meyer is survived by three daughters and spouses, including Lori and Bryan Herbort and Deanne and Darrell Moellering, all of Fredericksburg, and Pamela Meyer of San Antonio, and six grandchildren.

Donald (Don) Stevens


DON STEVENS

Donald (Don) Stevens, 88, of Fredericksburg, died Saturday, June 14, 2014, at Knopp Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

A funeral mass was celebrated Tuesday, June 17, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Msgr. Enda McKenna officiating. Mary Ann Murchison was the pianist, and Dr. Charles Schmidt, the vocalist.

Private family entombment of his cremains will take place at a later date.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation and a vigil service were held Monday evening, June 16.

Stevens was born Sept. 17, 1925, in Buffalo, New York, and was retired from the United States Air Force.

Stevens was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church where he belonged to the Knights of Columbus and St. Joseph’s Society.

He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Carol Stevens and Robert F. and Barbara Ann Stevens; one grandchild, and a sister, Patricia Little.

Rinie Zimmermann

Rinie Zimmermann, 95, of Fort Worth and formerly of Fredericksburg, died Friday, June 13, 2014.

Funeral services were held Thursday, June 19, at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church with the Rev. Rick Hartmann officiating.

Visitation was held beforehand at the church.

Interment followed at Der Stadt Friedhof.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Zimmermann was born Aug. 25, 1918, in Hutto, the son of Emil Zimmerman and Ida Munzenmayer Zimmerman. He married Quintella Lees on June 26, 1946. She preceded him in death on June 21, 1996.

Zimmermann served in the United States Army during World War II, attaining the rank of captain.

He is survived by a daughter, Glenda Hunt of Bedford, and a son and daughter-in-law, Vance and Stacy Zimmerman of Elgin.

Survivors also include five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a brother and sister-in-law, John and Sue Zimmerman, and a sister, Lillian Israel.
