Mrs. Glenn Beyer

Mrs. Glenn Beyer, 67, nee Kathryn (Kathy) Dearing, of Fredericksburg, died Monday, Oct. 28, 2013.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Oct. 31, from 3-7 p.m., and Friday, Nov. 1, from 8:30-9:30 a.m., in the chapel of Beckmann Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 1, at 10 a.m., at Zion Lutheran Church.

Interment will follow at Christ Lutheran Cemetery at Cherry Spring.

Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, Christ Lutheran Cemetery or to the Adopt A Student Program at St. Mary’s School.

Doris Roebuck Hansen

Doris Roebuck Hansen, 94, of Fredericksburg, died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, at Fredericksburg Nursing and Rehab.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 30, at 3 p.m., at the Hilda United Methodist Church.

Memorials may be made to Hilda United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall Fund, P.O. Box 1404, Mason, TX 76856; or the Hendrix College Dr. Fred G. Roebuck United Methodist Church Scholarship, 1600 Washington Ave., Conway, AR 72032.

Cremation was under the direction of Beckmann Funeral Home.

G.A. Heimann


G.A.HEIMANN

Guenther A. (G.A.) Heimann, 95, of Fredericksburg, died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, at Hill Country Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 26, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Beckmann Funeral Home with the Rev. David Priem officiating. Marjorie Ottmers was the organist and Joyce Priem, the vocalist.

Interment followed in the Meusebach Creek Cemetery.

Visitation was held Friday evening at the funeral chapel.

Heimann was born Dec. 27, 1917, in the Bear Creek community of Gillespie County, the son of Edwin A. Heimann and Ida Wunderlich Heimann. He married Iola E. Petermann on Oct. 26, 1940, at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, and she survives.

A World War II veteran, Heimann served in the South Pacific in the Army Corp of Engineers.

After the war, he learned to be a jeweler and watch repairman and for over 50 years, operated G.A. Heimann Jeweler.

Roland Edgar Lorenz

Roland Edgar Lorenz, 63, of Johnson City, died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013.

Graveside services and interment were held Friday, Oct. 25, at 11 a.m. at the Johnson City Masonic Cemetery in Johnson City with the Rev. Jim Boatright officiating.

Arrangements were under the direction of Crofts-Crow Funeral Home of Johnson City where visitation was held Thursday evening, Oct. 24.

Lorenz, a U.S. Army veteran, was born June 17, 1950, in Fredericksburg, the son of Clarence Lorenz and Dottie Wittkohl Lorenz

Survivors include one son, Cole Lorenz, and one granddaughter, and his mother, Dottie Wittkohl Lorenz.

He is also survived by one brother, five sisters and spouses, including Douglas and Karen Lorenz, Darlene and Aubrey Gibson, Kathleen and Ronnie Scott, Barbara Strackbein, Judy and Steven Langbein and Tina and Larry Scott.

Lorenz was preceded in death by his father; and two brothers-in-law, Steve Baker and Leonard Strackbein.

Rosa Lee Oehler

Rosa Lee Oehler, 96, nee Smith, of Austin and formerly of Harper, died Monday, Oct. 28, 2013.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 1, at 4 p.m. at Harper United Methodist Church with interment following in the Harper City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday, from 3-4 p.m., at the church.

Memorials may be made to the Harper United Methodist Church or the Harper Volunteer Fire Department and EMS.

Arrangements are under the direction of Beckmann Funeral Home.

Mrs. Chester W. Otte


MRS. CHESTER W. OTTE

Mrs. Chester W. Otte, 94, nee Lulie Ernestine Jacoby of Fredericksburg, died Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, at Knopp Assisted Living Center.

Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 25, at 11 a.m. at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church with the Rev. Bobby Vitek officiating. Bernice Basse was the organist and Deanne Moellering, the vocalist.

Interment followed in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation was held Thursday evening and Friday morning.

Mrs. Otte was born July 26, 1919, in Gillespie County, the daughter of Max W. Jacoby and Lena Birck Jacoby. She married Chester William Otte on March 28, 1940. He preceded her in death.

For more than 20 years, Mrs. Otte worked at Market Produce. She was a member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, and quilted with the Holy Ghost Quilters group.

Mrs. Charles Darrell Bernhard


MRS. CHARLES DARRELL BERNHARD

Mrs. Charles Darrell Bernhard, 82, nee Carlette Rose (Tuttie) Moritz, of Boerne and formerly of Fredericksburg, died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, in North Central Baptist Hospital.

A funeral mass was celebrated Saturday, Oct. 19, at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Msgr. Enda McKenna officiating. Mary Ann Murchison was the pianist and Tricia Eilers the vocalist.

Graveside services and interment followed in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Mrs. Bernhard was born Sept. 27, 1931, in Fredericksburg, the daughter of Robert Peter Moritz and Vera Susan Kolmeier Moritz.

She married Charles Darrell Bernhard of Jan. 15, 1951, in Fredericksburg. He preceded her in death.
