Elgin Edwin Grona


ELGIN GRONA

Elgin Edwin Grona, 90, of Fredericksburg died Monday, Aug. 3, 2015.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 5, in the chapel of Fredericksburg Funeral Home with the Rev. David Priem officiating. Graveside services followed in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation was held Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning.

Grona was born June 2, 1925, in Fredericksburg, the son of Edwin Grona and Meta Meyer Grona. He married Mildred Kordzik on Aug. 7, 1948, and she survives.

He served in the United States Army in Europe during World War II. Grona retired as a maintenance supervisor with the Texas Highway Department.

In addition to his wife, Grona is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Sharon Grona of Fredericksburg; a daughter-in-law, Carol Eardley of Kingsbury; three grandchildren; one step-grandchild; seven great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren, and one step-great-great-grandchild.

Monroe Heinemann

Monroe Heinemann, 99, of Fredericksburg died Thursday, Aug. 6, 2015.

A Mass of resurrection was held Monday, Aug. 10, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Entombment followed in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum.

Memorials may be made to the St. Mary’s School Endowment Fund or the charity of choice.

Schaetter Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Raul Martinez Aguero


RAUL MARTINEZ AGUERO

Raul Martinez Aguero, 61, of Fredericksburg, died Tuesday, July 28, 2015.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 1, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Msgr. Enda McKenna officiating.

Graveside services and interment followed at 2 p.m., in the Llano City Cemetery in Llano.

Rosary services were held at 6 p.m., Friday, in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation was held Friday evening and Saturday morning.

Aguero was born Jan. 15, 1954 in Stanford, the son of Raul Perez Aguero and Irene Olivas Martinez Aguero.

He is survived by six sisters and one brother, including Irene Castro, of Memphis, Texas; Ramona Garcia, Estelline; Max Aguero, New Braunfels; Mary Ayala, Kerrville; Audelia Duque and Tomacita Ruiz, both of Fredericksburg; and Janie Lopez, Cleburne.

Aguero was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials may be made to the charity of choice.

Edward (Curtis) Fry, 84, of Kingsland, died Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015.

Clyde Thomas (Tom) Gant, 79, of Fredericksburg, died Thursday, July 30, 2015, at Knopp Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 4, at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church with interment following at Der Stadt Friedhof.

Memorials may be made to Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, Hill Country Memorial Hospital or to the charity of choice.

Alice Joyce Chadick Hilton

Alice Joyce Chadick Hilton, 82, of Fredericksburg, died Thursday, July 23, 2015, at Southwest Texas Methodist Hospital in San Antonio.

A memorial service is planned at a later date.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Ms. Hilton was born Sept. 27, 1932 in Quitman, the daughter of Willard Clifton and Ina Green Chadick.

She is survived by a son, Ronald Ferguson of Fredericksburg; a daughter, Kathleen Silverman of Astoria, Oregon, and one grandchild.

Guadalupe Jaimes


GUADALUPE JAIMES

Guadalupe Jaimes, 57, nee Lopez, of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, July 29, 2015.

Graveside services and interment were held at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 1, at Greenwood Cemetery with the Rev. Felix Barrera officiating.

Arrangements were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home where visitation was held Friday evening, July 31.

Mrs. Jaimes was born Oct. 12, 1957 in Mexico, the daughter of Evaristo Lopez and Delfina Velaquez Lopez. She married Heriberto Jaimes on May 3, 1975, in Mexico, and he survives.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Jaimes is survived by the following children: Maria Delgado and her husband, Victor; Bertin Jaimes and his wife, Carmelita Galvan; Delfino Jaimes and his wife, Gloria; Minerva Jaimes and her husband, Fernando Lopez; Luis Jaimes and his wife, Berta, and Herberto Eddie Jaimes.

Survivors also include 16 grandchildren.

Michael Houston McDonald


MICHAEL HOUSTON MCDONALD

Michael Houston McDonald, 59, of Arlington, died Tuesday, July 28, 2015.

Funeral services were held at noon, Saturday, Aug. 1, at Crofts-Crow Funeral Chapel in Blanco, with interment following in the Blanco Cemetery.

McDonald was born Dec. 23, 1955 in Houston, the son of Wilmer Joe McDonald and Eleanor Loomis McDonald.

He was a graduate of Brownsville High School and attended Texas A&M University. He worked as a computer programmer for Chase Bank for 38 years.

Survivors include his mother, Eleanor McDonald of Fredericksburg, and a sister and brother-in-law, Rebecca and Randy Stephens of Graham.

McDonald was preceded in death by his father, Joe McDonald, and his brother, Douglas Wilson McDonald.

Edward Lorence Walter, 72, of Kerrville, died Monday, Aug. 3, 2015, at Peterson Regional Medical Center in Kerrville.

A memorial service with military honors is planned at 2 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 6, at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville.
